This is an excellent aid for when you are taking things apart and need a safe place for all of the metal parts. It has a strong magnet which even when tipped upside down holds everything I've had in it. Really very useful when doing any bits of work which involve screws, nuts, bolts etc.For the very first time ever I can now work on my vehicles without the searching for where I placed various bolts.As it's magnetic you can even stick it on a garage door and stick bolts to it which is really novel if you have no horizontal surface available.

I bought this product for just £2.84 from Amazon because I thought it was a pretty handy little accompaniment to my shed.There are other versions of the same item available varying in dimensions, quality and price; brand also plays a part, this one being from 'Blue Spot', I have bought other items from them previously, such as theBlue Spot 27161 Mini Hacksaw and have been pleased with both the quality and price.This Magnetic Dish is very well made, very solid and very good value for such a relatively low price. It is made from quite thick metal (suggesting the possibility of many years use), and has a thick/solid rubber base; the magnet is pretty strong, certainly strong enough to securely hold any items contained within, and at the same time it is also strong enough to hold the dish firmly in place against any suitable surface.The dish is described as being suitable to hold 'small parts and tools'; I'm not too sure about tools, the diameter is only 108mm meaning it is approximately the size of a drinks coaster. It will almost certainly hold screws, washers, nuts and bolts etc; with respect to tools maybe some smaller drill bits, screw bits and possibly even jigsaw blades, but not too much else.Overall a very handy piece of equipment to have; we all know how annoying it can be when one loses a screw or washer for instance having placed it on the worktop, only for it to roll away and fall under the worktop as far as possible.Personally I think that £2.84 is a cheap price to pay to reduce the chances of that ever happening again!

Got one of these for the toolbox and used it when I was replacing a shed roof, which included pulling lots of old nails. The magnetic dish attached really firmly to the top of my stepladder and allowed me to deposit all the old nails securely in it (where they stayed, even when I turned the dish upside down). The dish has been used for a variety of projects since then and has proven itself invaluable.

Good value and effective! No bad points!

How does anyone do a building job without one of these? It is great to be able to put the metal objects in the bowl and know they are not going anywhere and the bowl itself again a metal object. It has been really useful.
