Fits perfect, easy job
Purchased for a system fitted over 12 years ago that (like others on here) was leaking from the front. Its an easy swap.Turn the hot and cold supplies off.Run the water out.Remove old unit.Remove old O ring at the rear. This is a 2 minute job using a fishing hook taped to a screw driver. Use a torch, insert screwdriver / hook into unit, insert hook into old O ring. Remove.Grease new O ring and insert using a screwdriver to offer it up, get one half into the recess where the old one came out, use a second screw driver or your finger to pop the rest in.Replace the unit. Use the on / off knob you took off to make sure the shower is off (just half attach it).Set the hot / cold mixer up in terms of alignment.Water back on.Shower.Easy to do, fits, works, no more leaks.Comes with a full set of instructions (except for my fishing hook tip). 30 min job.Hope that helps.Fully recommend.

Very good replacement that fixed the drips and temperature control issues I was having
Excellant product with very comprehensive instructions to allow a competant DIYer to complete the job easily.During the installation the following points should be noted (this applies to Colt Thermostatic range)- Ensure both hot/cold feeds are off (in my case the hot water tap was faulty so had to be replaced before hand)- Removing the shelled control knob requires force to pull free- The 4 screws holding the cartridge are star shaped BUT can be opened using a flat head screw driver (in my case one of them was rusted and the star bit just sheared the screw head so used flat bit instead)- Taking the O ring out was fiddly, used a hooked dental plaque pick to prise part of the ring out and then a small screwdriver to free ring completely.- Putting the O ring back was very fiddly, the best way was to use the index finger to seat the ring (couldn't do it using any other tools because ring would keep popping out)- Putting back together the instructions fail to mention to put back various parts (I remembered afterwards). Now the shower holds the temperature even if someone flushes the toilet or uses another tap in the house and the intermittent drip has been fixed as well.

Brilliant spares for Aqualisa showers.
Easy purchase, easy to fit, very, very good instructions “which need to be read.” To avoid incorrect assembly.

Easy to fit for a DIY novice
I was mildly terrified at the thought of changing this thermostat but with no one willing to help I cracked on. The instructions were clear and it is made in a user friendly way. I think this is really well made and I’ve had no problems since fitting it. Anyone in the same boat at fitting it themselves there are how to videos on YouTube to explain too.

Easy installation
After 15 years of a trouble free operation, my Aqualisa 609 shower developed a persistent drip from the shower head.Purchased a replacement cartridge and fitted it within 15 minutes. A couple of the cartridge screws in the old unit were corroded so I gave them a good spray with WD40 and used a Torx25 bit to get them out. Easy to install the new one and great instructions. Shower is like new again and the replacement cartridge gives a positive click when turned off which is an improvement over the old one - hope this one last 15 years too!

Worked perfectly for a week.
Despite the cost, was able to convince the customer to replace the shower valve cartridge as part of renovating the shower enclosure. The cartridge worked and performed perfectly for around a week 7 or 8 times a day until last night. The Lady of the house showered as normal and all fine until she came to turn the shower off and nothing happened.Shower continued to run at full flow. despite the on/off control turned fully off, as if in full on position.Removed the on/off control knob and temperature control lever to see what was or wasn't happening. All seemed in order externally, and temperature control functioning seamlessly, but the on/off control making no difference whatsoever to shower flow. No feel of resistance when turning either way as if control not connected to anything.Repeated turning on and off eventually resulted in the flow shutting off with a thud and shudder like water hammer, which it has never done before, and now seems to be constant, almost as if some critical part inside the cartridge is loose, and operating somewhat hit and miss.Though still seems to be working in this fashion, cannot leave as is, and thankfully did not dispose of the old cartridge, which will refit and return the new one for refund.

Great value fix for an old shower
I have an Aqualisa shower unit that is about 20 years old, the cartridge started to leak, to the credit of Aqualisa, a replacement cartridge is still available, that fits perfectly. When ordering a replacement cartridge make sure you know what colour and style your old one is, this dictates where it can be used (mains, gravity fed tank, combi boiler, pressurised system, etc). This is generally easy to fit with one tiny exception, the old 'O' ring in the shower housing that holds the cartridge is virtually impossible to remove, in the instructions they recommend something like a crotchet hook to get it out. I ended up using a long thin bent screwdriver. Be warned the whole job took about 2 hours, 90 minutes of which was trying to get that 'O' ring out. Fitting of the replacement otherwise took about half an hour with a bit more time to make good. I like the fact that Aqualisa don't make their old units redundant.
