Love love love!
I've had a run with shower heads in my day, and finally my sister recommended this one to me about 15 years ago. I got it and never looked back. Every other shower head is inferior. Great water pressure management and no awkward gaps in the stream. So, I recently moved into an apartment with my partner, and this apartment had one of those lame rain-style shower heads that just drizzles on you. Obviously, the clear choice was to replace it with the Speakman Anystream. I purchased it and replaced the old head with the new one without telling my partner about the decision. After his first shower and every time he takes a shower, he comes out and hugs me nearly in tears of gratitude, saying, "This is the best shower head ever, you really nailed it."Do yourself a favor and get this shower head.

Let thy flesh be cleansed!
I have to admit. I have a problem. I'm addicted to water pressure. Just can't live without it. And if high pressure showers are wrong, I don't wanna be right! My version of a successful shower is the peace of mind of knowing that when I step out, one full layer of epidermis has been thoroughly expunged. I live for the feeling of pure, unadulterated water power pressure washing everything away.So imagine my disappointment when my first ever house purchase, though full of water pressure potential, left something to be desired. The cleansing ability lay dormant, with no device present to harness this latent power. Undeterred, I searched until the instrument of my shower salvation was discovered. The Speakman S-2252 Anystream is one of those dying breeds that lives by the ages old yet dying creed, "Do one thing, and do it well." This shower head delivers power. Raw, unapologetic power. But that is something to be described a little later. The first thing you notice about this shower head is that, despite it's rather diminutive size, it is hefty. There is no mistaking whether this item is made of quality materials. Gravity and mass make sure of that. Solid brass, made to last. The second trait is simplicity. There is no rotary dial with 100 settings. There is simply a lever on the side that moves the 8 nozzles on the face of the head in and out. When moved in the nozzles "squeeze" the water, like your finger covering the end of a hose, giving you defined jets of water and higher pressure. When moved out the nozzles allow free flow of water. Less pressure, but much higher flow. The beauty is that even with such simplicity, the lever can be stopped anywhere you like to adjust streams and pressure to your liking. You really do have the option of "Anystream".Instructions for installation were included and were simple and clear. Like most shower heads, installation isn't rocket science, but if you've never done it before, the instructions make it pretty difficult to mess up. Also included was a small roll of Teflon tape. I was quite pleased with this, as I had misplaced my own roll. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that there is probably enough tape included for 3 installs, so the rest was thrown into the toolbox to be put to future use. Then, to the moment of truth. I turned on the shower and no leakage. But the pressure. Oh! The pressure! I hadn't even stepped into the shower, yet I knew I had found what I had been looking for. I could feel the rush of air as it moved out of the way of the water. I smiled. This was the moment I had been waiting for. I stepped in...I can only describe the shower experience with one word... Joy. My wife will testify to the fact that I was giggling like a schoolgirl the entire time. Like Michael Jordan clutching his first NBA championship trophy, I embraced the water as a long lost friend. This was what I had searched so long for. The perfect shower experience. When the nozzles of the head are turned out for full flow, it's like having someone continually pour buckets of water on your head. Need to rinse off some soap? Done. In an instant. There is no waiting here. But, when you really want to step to the next level, turn that lever all the way over and you will be met with something only a step below a fire hose. On its highest setting, the jets that flew from this shower head stung me. That's not an exaggeration. They literally stung. Some might not find that appealing. I, however, could do nothing but grin like the kid who just received his first bike.Am I satisfied with my purchase? Oh yes. This shower head is not for the faint of heart. But if you have the courage to enter the heart of darkness, you WILL emerge victorious. You will emerge refreshed. You may even be a new person. But one thing is sure. Your flesh will be cleansed.(One thing to note. As most shower heads do, this one came with a flow regulator pre-installed. It is a simple plastic piece fitted into the connector end of the head. If you are like me and don't enjoy feeling restricted in your shower taking, you will want to remove this piece. Of all the things that I tried, I would recommend a pick or pointed Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. After fiddling with it for a few minutes trying other methods, one good whack with the screwdriver on the inner edge of the plastic had it dislodged immediately. I am more than happy that I removed this piece. However, considering just how absurdly good this shower head is, I would suggest trying it with the regulator in place first. I would have to think that it will be more than capable even with governmental shackles on it. When I purchase another one of these for the guest bathroom I will most likely leave the regulator in at first to compare. I will try to remember to update this review at that time when I do.)

Best Shower head
We have very low water pressure (30 psi) and have gone through a dozen others that couldn't upscale the pressure. This was worth every dime and I will only buy Speakman going forward.

Simple, effective, outstanding build quality
Never thought I would find myself excited about a showerhead. I moved into a new apartment and the old showerhead's water pressure was just a gentle trickle. I wanted to see if a new head would perform better and the difference is night and day. This Speakman showerhead is built solid, has a good heft to it and the mode lever moves smoothly without any wobble. The water pressure is stronger now than I would have thought possible (without changing anything else!)

Couldn’t be better!
Excellent showerhead for the price, or pressure in our home is pretty low and this showerhead increased it by at least double the pressure. Adjustable width also works with the lever. Couldn’t be happier.

Well Made - Over Hyped or Over Regulated?
Ok. My views are likely very different from some would-be buyers. If you are tired of wimpy, waterless showers and are simply a 'buy it and install it' kind of person, then this is likely just what you are looking for. Just stop reading and buy it. But. If you are like me and want a 10 meter waterfall kind of shower and have been searching for a device to help then this review is probably pointed more to what you would appreciate. I own several solid brass shower heads that I have tried out over the years. And to be clear, this one has plastic parts in the interior that allow the stream to change from an open high volume flow to a more precise, higher pressure setting. My previous shower head has been modified and was very acceptable. However, I have been reading the hype about this bad boy for a while and when the price took a little bit of a dive, I jumped on it. Out of the box...I was highly disappointed as I thought from some reviewers comments that this was the holy-grail of shower heads that needed nothing more than screwing onto my 1/2" shower outlet pipe and letting the downpour begin. Nope. Wimpy. Barely get wet output at the most. So, I understood why so many people had mentioned removing the flow restrictor. Looked it up to make sure I wasn't going to ruin this expensive thing and pulled that little sucker out. Went and spun it back on the wall and braced myself for what surely was going to be like my 'first time' showering experience. And....wah wah wah.... nope. Sorry. Still wimpy compared to my old trusty block of brass I was still eyeing over there on the counter. Not wanting this to fail me - as I appreciated its build quality and precision jetting - I decided to act on it like I had that other shower head that I've used (and loved) for years. I was going to bore this bad boy out and let it FLOW! So I pulled my index drill bits out and found the bore on this shower head was just shy of 1/4". So, I cleaned the bore first with a 1/4" bit. Easy. Then moved up to a 5/16" and opened it up just a bit extra. Reinstalled it and now it feels ~almost~ as powerful as the old trusty one I took off to replace it with but it will get you clean and I still like that this one has a bit more precision jettings for the high pressure or "needles" setting. Not sure if it will tolerate moving on up to 3/8ths without damaging it so I'll stay with 5/16th bore for now. If I had known the hype for this shower head was out of proportion to what I was already enjoying - I would not have purchased it. I got this on sale for $56.00 and thought it would blow my fenders off but my old one that I paid less than $20.00 for at Wal-mart (of all places) actually outperforms it before being modified. So, yeah, if you want to drill it out to a higher flow head and are willing to pay for it then you will probably like it a lot. And if you aren't used to real showers already, then out of the box you will probably like it too. To me though, It's not worth it for what I spent on it and I'll probably never buy another "high-end" hyped one again since I know I can get a solid brass, hard hitting, high flow (after modifying) head for a lot less. Overall. It is well made and I'm guessing if it were not for government meddling they probably would be making these in 'big bore' models and would likely be a great shower head... I don't blame the company and they need to be paid for a good product so even though this could be perceived as a 'bad' review I'm still giving it 4 stars because I think they made it as good as they were allowed to make it and they did a good job. I however am just one of those people who likes to get a big bang for my buck and this just didn't do it for me. My kids told me to just leave the head off all together and stand there under the 1/2" pipe - they may be onto something there!

Love it. Just as Advertised. Looks elegant and indestructible. Don't drop it on your toe. LOL
This is a great unit that can really make a difference if you have pressure issues like we do. Our old wand would turn to a drizzle when someone was washing up in the kitchen. Not anymore! We get hard massage like flow on the tighter settings even with the source pipe being less than half an inch and the coverage at 6 inches above head height is wide and generous. If you get this at around $50 on sale like we did, you will be very satisfied.Be sure to check all your fittings and take measurements first as this is just the shower head a small amount of plumbers tape in this package.
