Does the trick but you can't wear it all day
Firstly let me say I am a doctor (GP) with an interest in musculoskeletal pain. I also suffer from thoracic back pain myself, ie between the shoulder blades. Basically due to the fact I spend 11-12 hours at work, mostly in a chair so don't move enough. I have to do regular spinal rotation and extension exercises through the day to keep things moving. Most back pain is due to bad posture, not actual damage. Some peoples spines are not perfectly shaped so the bad posture comes from their shape, not just sitting or standing badly. This product works by pulling the shoulders back to keep the thoracic spine in a straight and slightly extended position so essentially forces you into a better posture. It works for pain but after an hour or so the straps become uncomfortable. Having said this you could not effectively pull your body into a better posture without causing mild discomfort at the straps. The discomfort is easily bearable and I would definitely recommend this for people with mid back pain. It is easy to put on yourself. Check the size and measure your chest just under the nipples (or breasts if female) if needed to ensure you get the right one.As additional advice- humans spend a lot of time flexing their neck and spine (bending forward while working, reading, using phones or iPads etc) but we rarely extend (tilting head back looking right up, or arching the back). This could lead to bulging discs out the back, weak spinal ligaments or just pain due to prolonged bad posture. If you do daily extensions exercises (YouTube physio exercises for back/neck pain) you can minimise pain and maintain independence in later life. To show how bad posture can cause discomfort hold your arm fully straight out in front of you, Palm facing down and pull your index finger back until tight. Hold it there for a while and see what happens. As soon as you get back to normal position (good posture) the discomfort resolves.Hope that is useful...

Worse than useless
Bought this item because I had previously bought a poor quality one that ripped (but had really helped pull my shoulders back and improve my posture and stop my shoulders getting sore) True to description it was nicely made and had good padding under the arms and seemed robust. I had a bit of trouble getting it on as it comes in two pieces, and I needed help. I guess you would get used to it though. And I assume this design means it adjusts to your proper size. The trouble was it didn't really pull my shoulders back although it seemed to be the right size. I'm a standard 14. The brace was medium. It was necessary to pull it down at the back and tight across my middle to achieve the desired effect. I managed to achieve this with a bit of help from colleagues and wore it every morning for a week.It didn't help much with my shoulders or posture. It just didn't seem to pull my shoulders back enough So I had sore shoulders the same as I had before the first brace.Towards the end of the week I started getting twinges in my lower back (which has never been sore before). By Saturday I couldn't stand up or sit down without considerable pain and I am now taking painkillers every four hours, and having real trouble moving about. I'm supposed to be going on holiday on Thursday but don't think I could manage the drive. This brace has been a disaster for me.

Probably works
Product sizing was accurate and material used was good quality. In itself, it does not support shoulders or back, but by nature of the moderate (and perfectly bearable) discomfort of wearing it, it reminds you to stand up straight. Not a lot of use for support, but probably good at improving posture and consequently strengthing muscles naturally. It is early days for me, but I will continue to wear it - perhaps not in the summer when I think it could be unpleasant - as any other such product would be.

This helps me a lot but best bit of advice I can give is put a vest on first then this on top , it makes it more comfortable

a little less than expected
The shoulder brace is helping to improve my posture, but it is getting loose too fast. Also hurts a little the armpit, so I always need to wear a t-shirt under it.
