TK Ice & Fire vs TK Camper travel Kuppe
My son just joined the Boy Scouts and camping trips hit us fast. As such I decided to buy a couple good quality travel cups. After reading reviews and stats I decided to give TK a chance over the better known yeti. I can't give a comparison on yeti vs TK but I can tell you how the camper held up vs the Ice & Fire during a hot liquid test I did.To start the bottles both feel very well built with a powder coat type finish on them that gives some grip to the bottles which is nice. They also both have a place to use a Carabiner hook (the camper comes with a carabiner) or your finger to carry it with or maybe a small tether to tie it with. The Camper has a lid which must be removed to get any liquid out while the Ice & Fire has a sports type flip up lid so you can drink directly from It without taking off the lid which is a very nice convenience. Both bottles have very wide mouth for easy cleaning and both Lids look like they will be very easy to clean as well. The Campers opening is quite a bit wider. During actual measurements, the Camper held 18oz while the Ice & Fire held 16oz.I filled both bottles to capacity with hot tap water and checked them periodically with a infrared thermometer. I could have filled them both with 16oz to be equal but the added airspace could have put the Camper at a disadvantage. The initial fill was measured at 159.9 degrees on day one at 3pm with my homes interior at 74 degrees. I secured both lids and removed and replaced the lids for each test thereafter. At 4pm I checked the cups. The Ice & Fire had dropped to 147.1 and the Camper was holding at 150.7 so not much of a difference at this point. U would imagine the insulation conducted most of the heat which is why they had such a great drop so fast. In other words the bottles warmed up.My next check was at 7pm that same daye, so 4 hours after the start of the test. At this point the Ice & Fire was at 130.1 degrees and the Camper at 145. The Camper was holding holing heat much better at this point. At 8pm I decided to check the exteriors but leave the bottles closed. The Ice & Fire exterior of the bottle was 76.7 and the lid was 104.4. The Campers exterior was 75.1 and the lid was 83.1 degrees. It was immediately apparent that the heat loss is through the lid of the Ice & Fire with over a 21 degree difference.I checked the interiors again at 5am the next day so 14 hours into testing. The Ice & Fire water was 91.9 and the Camper was holding at 111.7 do about a 20 degree difference which would be a direct result of the lids heat loss.I left them sealed again until 5:00PM, the water in the Ice & Fire was now 80.1 degrees. The Camper was at 95.3 which isn't bad after 26 hours and being opened several times for testing. I called it quits on the Ice & Fire sense it was definitely not hot and only a few degrees warmer than the ambient temperature in my home but I wanted to see how much longer the Camper would hold out.At 10pm that night the Camper was still 90.5 degrees. At 5am.the next day it was at 86.1 degrees and I called it quits on the Camper. In the end the Camper easily held "warmth" 7 hours longer than the Ice & Fire and held true "hot" liquid at least that duration or longer depending on what you consider hot.I like the lid on the Ice and fire because it's a "sports top" but that convenience comes with a slight cost. Buying these work perfectly for us because we are going to use the Camper to refill the Ice & Fire and realistically I think both would perfectly hold coffee for anyone on their way to work etc without any issues whatsoever. If you were looking for longer storage such as camping or maybe more severe outdoor cold then I would definitely go with the Camper Edition.I would like to try some other TK products and maybe put them against some competition in The future with real world situations such as our camping trips and use something other than water but for now all I had was these two bottles and I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. I will do a cold liquid update in the future as well to see if they have similar results.Overall very pleased so far and the the company did a fantastic job and a reasonable price.

Keeps my coffee hot!! Thank you TK!
I purchased this TK camper travel mug along with the Ice & Fire model. Both of these were to be used for camping coffee mugs. I put this Camper model to test on the first day, and it works exactly as hoped. I keeps my coffee very hot for a very long time. I don't necessarily need coffee to stay in the mug that long, but I do want it to be hot with each sip. And that's what this mug delivered. With this mug, you would have to remove the lid each time you drink, but I knew that going into it. And it has a wide opening which makes drinking very easy...just like out of a glass. The rim is very smooth and "lip friendly" so no worries there either. On top of all of this, this bottle is a very good value when comparing to other name brand vacuum insulated bottles. I will recommend for sure.

I am so pleased and impressed with this product
I am so pleased and impressed with this product. I ordered it for summer vacation travel to Jamaica and it was important that I get a travel bottle that can hold liquids cold for a few hours to endure the heat in the tropics and also especially because my five year old son can be specific with what he wants to drink and when. Often at nights when we are asleep he will awake and ask for cold water, and will not drink room temperature water when offered(because often times I am tired and want to sleep too and do not want to go to the refrigerator). So I was looking for something that I can have at my bedside that can keep water cold throughout the night and would not mark my furniture.I ordered this on my travel and received it in time to go on vacation, and did it come in handy this summer, especially because the summers are so hot in the Caribbean. It keeps my liquids hot or cold for long periods, the finish is very nice, the handle at the top is very convenient and makes handling and travelling easy and convenient, especially with a five year old boy who bounces off the wall.Another thing I am impressed with are the emails from Jim at Travel Kuppe, to check how I am enjoying their products and to even give me tips on how to care for my bottle.....very impressive customer service. I have been asked so many times about my bottle and so many of my friends have asked me to get them one. I am so hoping that I can get some lunch containers from Travel Kuppe next.

DO NOT BUY: The top does not secure well. It can easily pop off, spilling contents.
A serious design flaw in this mug has cause me to change my review from 4 to a 1. The top does not secure properly. No matter how hard I tighten it, it can still be pried off with a little force. I have had the top come off while running with it attached to my back. I have had it pop open spilling hot coffee on me twice. Most recently, I have had it spontaneously pop open in an airplane due to the lower pressure, spilling water on my laptop and carry-on clothes. On top of that, it really does not hold temperature that well, especially heat. I highly discourage anybody buying this mug.

Breaking Handle
This mug comes with a carabiner as it it was meant to be attached to your briefcase/backpack, but today the lid came apart while it was attached to my briefcase. The cup was still closed, since the bottom component of the lid stayed screwed in, but the top "handle" component completely separated, and the cup took significant damage when it fell. I have had the cup for less than a week.I will say that the cup is very good at keeping beverages cool/hot.

Five Stars
Perfect for motorcycle/bike riders where space is limited. Holds hot beverage temp quite well. A keeper for sure.

Stay hot for hours!
Keeps coffee hot for hours! Sleek design and love the carabiner to clip on a bag. Great product.

The insulation is virtually nonexistent
Due to either unseen damage or design flaw, the bottle doesn't insulate. Pouring hot liquid into it results in the outer skin heating up almost instantly.
