I have used this quit a bit for over a year and it still works well. I just wish the soldering iron used a standard connector but it doesn't. So when the iron quits I suspect I will have to shelve the unit. But it still works for now.

wow, I've always used a plug in soldering iron, but having the control over temperature is so much better and the heat is also more consistent.Having the heat gun to boot is amazing for cleaning up 3d prints. Love it. Glad I made the leap and bought this.

To be my first hot air station there was a learning curve but achieved. My Temps didn't seem correct so my infrared thermometer helped me find the best temp for my application. Once that was done I don't know how I had managed before.

I bought this soldering station as a replacement for an old soldering iron. Temperature control on this soldering station is very helpful. At higher temperatures, I am able to work with lead free solder, which was always a challenge on my old soldering iron. Also, as mentioned by others, this soldering station heats the tip of the iron quickly, which makes the system a pleasure to use. I have not yet had occasion to use the heat gun--looking for a simple project that requires it. The holder for the soldering iron is separate from the control center of the station. I place the two side by side, but if I had a more sophisticated workbench a different placement might be more strategic. The holder is stable and adequately covered, which reduces the likelihood of accidents or injuries.Some soldering stations include a third hand or other device to hold the item to be soldered. I made the decision to buy a soldering station without this feature. My reasoning was that it would be better to buy a separate, dedicated third hand. So far that decision seems to be a good one.For anyone who wants to change soldering from an unpleasant chore to a somewhat satisfying part of building a project, this station is a good choice.

I picked this up as it costs barely more than a decent soldering iron. It works alright and heats up quickly but the temperatures it reached do not match the readout. The hot air rework station in particular doesnt seem to get anywhere near the 896 degrees it is advertising.

I would buy again if the need comes again.
