Wood Thumb Brown Recycled Wood Bow Tie w/ Polished Steel Knot

So, the traditional gift for a 5th wedding anniversary is something wooden. My husband needs nothing, and when I asked him what he wanted for an anniversary present he said, "I dunno." So I got him this. He has a sense of humor, and he is classic dresser. I thought this would be a funky conversation piece for the rare times when he needs to wear a suit. Plus, no need to know how to tie a bowtie! Bonus!When I first gave it to him, he wasn't sure if he liked it. He made a face and I could tell he was trying to figure out how to politely ask if it could be returned. I made him try it on with a suit, and he decided he loved it after that. Yay! He wore it for our Christmas family photos and to his sister's wedding. (His sister is a Dr. Who fan and approves fully of bow ties)The actual bow is the size of an average cloth bow tie. Maybe slightly larger depending on how its tied. It isn't loud and garish, but it is a conversation piece and he's gotten lots of compliments on it. Someone uncomfortable with attention probably wouldn't like wearing this. The strap part is adjustable for a perfect fit.

The bow tie itself is good quality and good construction. My husband really liked the metal part in the middle. The only problem (which doesn’t bother us enough to return it, but I hope the seller takes note of) is that the elastic band that goes around the neck was assembled backwards. The hook is facing outwards and the metal piece where the actual adjusting is done is on the inside of the band when it is being worn. We tried to see whether we could flip it, but the elastic is secured in the metal bit so we couldn’t fix it without breaking it. Again, not the end of the world, but I hope the seller can fix this (or perhaps it was just a fluke) for the future.

Ill have to admit tht when i first saw it, I thought it was a bit wierd looking. But I wanted to give my hubby something different for his b'day. I buy all of his clothes and he's aleays stylish when we go out so I figured ths tie would make his outfits unique. I was right! Its adjustable and lightweight. FYI the gray piece n the middle is plastic, i think, and has a matte finish to it.

Much more than a novelty, this tie is quite fashionable. I've worn it with a jacket and slacks as well as jeans and an oxford. It's just a great accessory.

I bought this for a colleague and he wears it often enough so that I know he actually really enjoys it. It's a little witty fashion statement for those who can pull off a bow tie.

Cool product but edges are not smooth which seems extremely lazy to me.

I wore this to the CES 2014 and got compliments all day for this sleek bow tie. I also have the wooden tie and its a great conversation starter.
