wolfcraft jigsaw table. a little marvel....
firstly i am a proffesional model maker. i bought this for several reasons, 1- to rip sheets of 6mm mdf to managable size before i use them on my proxxon 230 saw table. 2nd- to use as a fret/scroll saw for some of the odd shapes i require ocasionally.and lastly i could see the potential for easily modifying this table for use as a small router table. with regards to my 1st point, it is superb, and extremely accurate if you take the time to set it up carefully.i use my bosh jigsaw in this and it fits perfectly, and there are marks on the underside of the table which helps you to align the base of your saw to the table. so top marks for that. my 2nd point. using as a free hand scroll saw is very good, although if you are new to this type of work then you will need practice. let the blade do the work, and don't try to force it or rush and the results are very good. now the modification. i have bought a hand trimmer for this purpose. (mail me for the model type) which cost £39.95 on amazon. by simply creating a circular hole in the wolf work table for the router cutter to operate through, and making a very simple timber fence,it is a very capable spindle moulder/router table, which can also be used as a bobbin sander. the router base simply clamps in using the same mounting brackets as for the jigsaw.i would say that it is the best money i have spent in a long while. the table comes with a 5 yr guarentee, although i should think it is good for twenty five as it is heavy duty steel. also the clamps supplied can be used seperately when you are not using the table,so you effectively get a pair of very strong bench clamps for your money as well. do yourself a favour, and just buy one. added a few pics of a model i cut out using this, and showing mounting etc. also as there is no guard for the blade,i simply put a plastic cup over the blade when not in use.more to remind me it is there, than for actual protction. but it does the job...

Useful bit of kit
Really useful bit of kit. This really works but it probably aimed at the hobbyist or occasional woodworker rather than the pro. Only took 15 minutes to assemble and it works fine. Tip: the jigsaw fits to the table by wing nuts. Make sure these are very tight as vibration from the tool can loosen them.I didn't give 5 stars as it lacks a blade guide which means you may not get a perfectly straight cut when cutting thick or very hard woods.I rectified this by building a simple jig from wood scraps- just Google 'convert jig saw to scroll saw' and you will see how to do this from simple to more complex jigs. Neutechnik make a similar one with all the add-ons-but of course it is pricier.

Easy set up
I bought this for one particular job but but I've ended up using it a whole bunch more. It's quick and easy to fit the jigsaw and set up, even on first use. The fence produces accurate results and with the the right type of jigsaw blade (scroll blade) you can get very good free hand results. It beats doing complex work with a jigsaw from the top as you have a clearer view.Less expensive and more compact than using a bandsaw if not quite as good a finish...but still relatively easy to tidy up to the final required finish. I've made several router jigs with this now.The initial job I bought this for was to cut carbon fibre plate into door finger plates using a grit type jigsaw blade. A quick final sand on the edge and the job was done. Some sort of sliding fence arrangement might be a useful addition but I suspect this would increase the cost significantly. But all in all this is very good value for money purchase and much better than expected...I must confess to being skeptical but happily I've been proven wrong.

Blade Wander
This table is made of very strong steel and the saw installed fine. I tested it on a piece of MDF that was 12mm thick. I cut straight for around 20cm using the fence provided... the fence worked brilliantly and the piece of MDF slid along just fine. What wasn't fine was the jigsaw blade wandering. The cut started at 1cm and ended up nearer 1.5 which kind of defeats buying one of these. Ok - maybe there's a blade guide out there, or so I thought... nope! Ended up building a blade guide arm with roller bearings for the blade to stop the jigsaw blade from wandering about. It works a treat and I can cut wood accurately with a variation of less than .2mm. Wolfcraft - get this sorted - your product is fine but not without a blade guide. Thankyou!I have posted a video on YouTube with tags Wolfcraft, Jigsaw, Table, Arm.
