Nowhere near the thickness it should be. The “1-inch” thick sheets are a little less than half an inch thick. All combined, the thickness should be 5.6 inches, but they measure only 3.5 inches. They arrive vacuum sealed, but I let them expand for hours, and this is the best they got.

Like many other reviewers on this and other similar products, I was initially disappointed when I opened my Amazon box. The foam pads were squeezed together in a plastic bag that had all the air sucked out of it, and what were supposed to be four one-inch pluck foam slabs all squeezed down to total about an inch-and-a-half. Letting them sit out and "breathe" hardly helped at all.Then, I saw another review that explained how to soak the slabs in water and then dry them out. That is the key to using these!So, I'm giving the product four out of five stars. My only complaints are that they are not usable immediately out of the box, and I had to research how to make them usable; but as you can see from the photographs, they did exactly what I wanted!

These are very poor quality. I allowed these to "puff up" for three days after they were unpacked from the vacuum bag ... this is the result. Tapered (sloped) sheets about 1/2" on one edge up to about 7/8" on the other. Definitely not 1 inch thick as advertised.

The right product to make your own inserts for storage containers, transport cases, or drawers. The quality is good. They come vacuum packed and sealed. So don't worry if the package looks much smaller than what it says in the product description. I always use a long and fresh utility knife blade to cut these. Works better for me than 'plugging'. Five stars. I hope this helps to make a decision.

I ordered two of these foam sets. Delivery was prompt. The foam was vacuum-sealed in plastic. One package was opened and the foam expanded on its own to the proper thickness. The other did NOT. The seller includes a direction to place the foam sheets in water and then let the water evaporate out. I had to thoroughly soak the sheets in water, removing as much of the air bubbles as possible; then, carefully squeeze out the water from the sheets, and over the course of TWO days let the sun and placement under lamps dry out any remaining water. It's difficult to squeeze water out of the perforated panels without separating the pre-cut squares - you really need to be gentle. To install the foam you will need to use adhesive to secure them in place. I used a spray adhesive, and like painting you need to mask off areas you don't want glue on. The sheets are not "peel & stick". Also, understand that removing the squares will give you a cavity with edges protruding into the cavity. If you plan on being able to use this right out of the package that may or may not be possible - I had a 50% immediate usability rate. I can't see any reason for the manufacturer to have sealed these in vacuum bags, and if you read other reviews for similar products you'll read similar complaints. If I'm paying $25.00 for foam sheets I should be able to use them right out of the package.

The foam was vacuum sealed and flat as a pancake, which I believe ruined it. It is supposed to be 4 pieces of pick-apart at 2 cm thick and 4 pieces of plain foam at 1 cm thick. There is no uniformity in the pieces and the thickness of all 8 is nowhere near even 1 cm. I opened it and allowed it to "breathe" for a couple days to no benefit. All 8 pieces remained flat, so they have been returned, as they can't be used for the intended purpose.
