This book just didn’t have the same usual appeal as Eva Winners books usually do, probably one of my least favourite.I found Byron the MMC just didn’t have enough character development to keep me interested and the same for Odette FMC.This book was too long and didn’t get to present day until chapter 19!Roll onto the next book in the series!There was a lot of unanswered questions re: Senator Ashford which will clearly be a theme for this series and probably be resolved at the end of the series.

I don't think I will ever tire of reading Eva's books! I devoured this is less than two days as standard with her stories because you just can't put it down, there is a constant need to see how everything pans out.This book is about Byron who we have met before and I really enjoyed seeing more of him, I didn't know I needed this until I read this! He was ruthless but with such a loving heart, I just found myself rooting for him all the way through. And Madeleine was such a wholesome character, she was so strong with everything that happened to her.I really enjoyed seeing Winston and Billie's banter and can't wait to read more about this group!

I absolutely loved this book. the angst, steam and drama was incredible. The relationship between Odette and Byron was so cute. They were in rough circumstances and had to go through some really hard times to get to where they are, but oh my was it worth it. I have been a huge fan of Eva winners for a while and it still surprises me every time with how well she writes these books. The way she writes smut is just down right filthy in the best way possible 😂.This story follows a young doctor named odette and Byron Ashford. She was everything he didn’t want and wasn’t looking for, and yet everything he needed and wasn’t willing to let go. And well Byron was the hot, mysterious guy she never saw coming.Their story is filled with twists and turns, just as you think you know where it’s going, something happens and bam!! The tables turn and you’re just screaming at the book, but my goodness was it worth the read.This book does have some darker content in it so, if you do read it please check trigger and content warnings and enjoy. ☺️

This series is a departure from the author’s Mafia series and isn’t as dark but is still engaging and compelling. As always the cameo appearances are everything in these books and it great fun to see glimpses into her other characters’ lives.It is amazing how the author creates worlds that cross and intertwine so intricately. I love the way the characters interact with each other. And especially like the insights into the Ashfield brothers’ relationships.The main characters in this one are interesting. Byron is less unfamiliar if you have read all of the authors previous books as there are lots of insights and glimpses into his character in those books. I liked Odette, especially how feisty and strong willed she is. I like that she doesn’t just give in when the going gets tough but unlike the other leading ladies we haven’t met Odette before so it’s great to discover her character.I’m looking forward to finding out what the other Ashford brothers have been getting up to.
