KanaPlex is a blended kanamycin based medication that safely and effectively treats several fungal, and bacterial fish diseases (dropsy, popeye, fin/tail rot, septicemia). Because it is absorbed by fish it is useful in treating internal infections in those situations where food is refused. It does not adversely affect the filter bed and is easily removed with carbon. When used in a medicated food mix, it is excellent for treating bacterial infections in tanks that contain invertebrates. For use in freshwater or marine aquaria.

Hard to measure but works well
I bought this to treat an eye infection and some lethargy in a betta fish. It was incredibly hard to measure because it only gives instruction for a larger tank. I basically had to guess at the dose but it did work immediately on the fish who began swimming and eating normally again as well as his fins and coloring got brighter and back to normal. It's something I will keep on hand for sure, but I do wish they made dosing easier.

Saved my fish’s eye when everything else failed!
My betta developed a severe case of popeye and nothing was helping. I tried salt baths multiple times a day - no luck, bettafix - no luck, erythromycin for a week - no luck.. eventually the eye started growing fungus and even raising the water salinity did nothing. One night with this stuff and it was a miracle! Swelling went down a ton and the fungus was gone. 100% saved my fish!! See photos for progression!

Did exactly as advertised!!
UPDATE:I was so happy with seachem, and so happy to see my betta back to his normal self, but I need to change my review. It said it was safe for invertebrates so I was comfortable with putting this in the tank. Within two weeks all three of my amano shrimp have died. This is the only thing I have changed, minus removing the carbon from the filter so as not to remove the medicine. :( I'm very sad they didn't make it. They were thriving and so happy. Swim well little shrimpys.Previous review:I have a little office betta named Swim Shady (elephant eared betta), who I spoil and try to make the happiest fish alive. I noticed he started looking a little bit off, bloated, eyes more swollen than I had remembered. He was still eating, but eating much less than he normally does. I was worried if anything I was being too paranoid, because looking at old pictures he does seem to have bigger eyes than normal bettas. I bought this medicine on a whim, because better safe than sorry, and he isn't even a year old yet. Within a week, two uses (one again this morning), his appetite is back, his colors are brighter, and he looks SO MUCH BETTER! I am not sure if he was on the verge of dropsy or what, I am just so thankful this stuff was here! Being a beginner aquarist I remember losing fish to dropsy when I was younger, having one I am actually trying to give all the necessities needed really makes you care more for what they are as a living being. Thanks so much to seachem for possibly saving my betta fish from an unknown ailment! So glad to have this happy little brat, who thinks he's bigger than he is, back!

Worked great!
It’s been almost 2 weeks since I started treatment with this, and my fish looks so much better. At first I tried keeping his water pristine and checked the water quality daily, but the fins just weren’t healing, after using this though it cleared fast

Great product won't harm snails or plants
I got this because my betta developed some type of fungus with in a day the fungus was cleared up. I treated through the 3 day course. But was safe to use with snails and my plants in the tank. Easy to measure scoop helps too with dosing.

Thank God for this product!!
After my boyfriend decided to set up a 30 gallon fish tank with four blue spotted sunfish in it. He decided to throw a few minnows in it. One of them within a few days had a really nasty case of finrot which killed it in over 24 hours after that the fish in the tank started slowly but surely breaking down with what I thought was ich. So I kept treating with every ich medicine on the market. The minnows all started to do better but my original Sunfish were cowering into the back of the tank. One became so ill over a 48 hour period..It basically ate through his his fins snf took over his body in no time..I treated aquarium with salt pimafix melafix as well as finrot meds by API to no avail when I finally realize none of this was working it was too late. the rest of my fish were starting to go downhill one had clamped fins with fungus at the base of his fins. Really terrible feeling watching fish you become emotionally invested in waste away like this. I started losing hope when my Amazon shipment arrived and I quickly dosed the tank accordingly. By the next morning clamped fins were gone by the following day the fish were at the front of the tank being more friendly and eating better today is the third day in the fungus is dissipating and their fins are growing back😲💗 I pray that it keeps working but in the meantime I am so thankful for this product and so are my fish. Word of advice always make sure your fish are healthy before adding them to your community tank. And if you run into any severe funguses or any severe disease grab yourself some of this. Not saying pimafix and melafix don't work..just didnt work for me. Kanaplex is a winner in my book
