which is brilliantly researched from a historian's p-o-v
The expected high quality product from Osprey, reminded me of a school exchange trip to the Vercors some 40 years ago. It does get a bit 'bogged down' in detail, which is brilliantly researched from a historian's p-o-v, but a bit dull if you're more into the action or what went on.

Vercors, it's history explained in detail
I visited Vercors in the mid 70's and found the location haunting. Thank you for clarifying this tragic episode in history.Clear and precise, this book had me spellbound.

Good but...
In few words: it's a very good book with clear language, precise description but suffers a lack of better treatment. The e-book edition is poor and the graphs and info-graphs lacks resolution e better visualization.

ILLUMINATING
The combination of excellent graphics with highly informative text makes this an ideal introduction to the complicated story of the brave but misguided action in 1944 in the Vercors region.
