Great game, good gameplay, but HORRIBLE audio mixing.
As a fan Persona and of tactical and strategy games such as xcom, this game is a hit for me, while also being a bit more forgiving than xcom could be. However, my God the audio mixing is HORRIBLE. The voices sound like they were recorded ten feet away from the microphone or are absolutely muffled at times.

Excellent Spin Off
Same vibe as the original Persona 5/Royal in terms of story and themes but in a new gameplay genre: strategy RPG. No social links or romance (except one very minor ‘what if’ scenario) option. More for those who are already familiar/played the original game. This game give little backstory and just jumps right in assuming you finished the Persona 5 or Persona 5 RoyalUnlike Fire Emblem, Xcom or Disgaea series; the maps are smaller in scale and fewer units (only 3-4 max on screen). There are cleaver strategies to implement especially in the quests (side missions) where they want you to do specific actions in a certain amount of rounds--Story/plot:The phantom theives are chilling in Café Leblanc watching the news when an earthquake happens and freezes time. The door entrance of the café starts glowing, they enter it and enter the metaverse. This time around instead of palaces, there are 4 kingdoms. You also only follow 1 character, Toshiro through all 4 kingdoms. This makes Toshiro’s character deeper and more expansive compared to the original game where we only spend 1 palace per character. Not everything is voiced acted, only the main story pointsMusic is good. Really ramps up during boss battles and high plot points. Found that the DLC (sold separately) has better music than core game unfortunately--Gameplay:Strategy RPG. Free roam movement (like in Mario + Rabbids series) instead of going square-by-squareMain offensive moves are guns. But also able to use Personas which act like magic spells (must spend SP to use them)You can purchase gun via in-game currency or forge them by fusing personasThere are sub personas you can equip (along side regular default personas) for all phantom thieves cast. A new character Erina cannot use personas but have her own SP move setMust utilize cover. When out in the open, you and your opponents are vulnerable to ‘One More’ turn when hit. No super effective elemental moves for extra turn. When enemy are out in open and are ‘downed’ (stunned) you can do an ‘all out attack’ dubbed “Triple Threat” via triangle formation. Whoever caught in gets massive damage dealtYou can do melee attacks when right next to enemies repositioning them. Certain magic/persona moves can also preposition enemies once hitIf you don’t attack for a round, you are able to “charge” and get a chance for higher attack next roundThere are skill trees for each characterThere’s a baton bass mechanic where if a character faints they get replaced by another character in the roster (Essentially an extra life). Number you get per stage depends on game difficulty setting you setOverall very fun tactics game, although more simplified. Great to revisit the Persona 5 universe again

Un buen Spin-Off
