The novel is focused on the life of Chinky, a multifaceted personality who is a spiritual advisor, vlogger, dancer, singer, actor, art director, model, TV personality and so on. She calls herself a witch. On a rainy morning her naked body washed ashore on Versova, a beach in Mumbai. Gaikwad begins his investigation by interrogating people who were related to Chinky. Thus Iti, once her roommate and a costume stylist; Abhishek, her flatmate and Vincent, her ex husband shares their part of the story with the cops. They talk about their purpose which brought them to the "city of dreams". Each of them also narrates how they met Chinky and what they know about her. Every narration leads to one conclusion that of Chinky being a complete mystery.🪄 The dashing cover and daring title convinced me in picking this book.🪄 Perfect plot and narration. The language used is simple and clear cut.🪄 Usually I get bored while reading slow paced novels. But this one is amazingly written and I always felt an urge to know more. 🪄 Various themes were blended flawlessly:- Themes of Romance, Spirituality, LGBTQ+, Sexuality and sex act. 🪄 Chinky's character is well developed. Her personality was an inspiration to those who were close to her and also to those who came to know about her. And I think she is capable of influencing even the readers. Her spirited character forms the soul of the novel. 🪄 Human nature and its complexity is vividly portrayed:- The feelings and emotions of human heart and how they are influenced by our situations. 🪄 Mumbai city and its life is shown with great details which dusted my childhood dream of a trip to the "mayanagri". 🌟 Bonus I got: A beautiful song is added to my playlist, "Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan🎶" Overall, this book is a must read with an intriguing and powerful plot and narration. You will adore it if you love reading strong stories with bold characters.
