It is real easy and fun experimenting for kids! Honestly, experimenting stuff is sometimes really bothering like have to help kids all the time beside them. But this is just need hot water and watching kids during mixing it. Then just wait a week without touching! During waiting time, kids are still so excited to see crystal growing! And they all are turned out so cute! Highly recommend!!!

This was such a fun project! The crystals started to grow very fast! We left the hedgehogs in the solution for 7 days. One of the plastic containers cracked after we put the warm solution in it so we used a glass for that hedgehog. Also, be aware that the directions are using Celsius and not Fahrenheit for the water temperature. Over all we absolutely loved making these crystal hedgehogs!!

My 7 year old saw these in a magazine and asked for them for her birthday. They were right up her alley! Simple enough that she was able to help with all the steps but complex enough that it held her attention as well. Waiting a week for them to grow was tough but not insufferable. I like that they're very small, since she collects everything and has limited space to store such a fragile treasure. I like that it was a four pack, which allows us to save one or two for another day as well.

My 5 year old loved this project. Not only did she enjoy checking on them 2-3 times a day and shining her flashlight on the cup to see how big the crystals had grown, but she’s also taken them to school and to other family members homes to show off the end result.They were popular among her friends as well. Good value for the price!

Bought this for my 7 year old cause he accidentally messed up a different one his grandma sent him, I bought the 2 pack the blue and the orange. I did the orange one to see if it really worked and to my surprise after only about 4 or 5 hours you can see the crystals starting to grow! The picture is about 12 hours after 1pm to 1am progress. The instructions were super easy and simple to follow, I boiled the water to make sure that it was hot enough to dissolve the powder. The whole process took less than 5 minutes since the water was hot enough it dissolved super quick and cooled down just as fast, you stick the crystal thing in the Hedgehog plop it in the mixture, make sure it's centered put the lid on and watch as the crystals grow. Will definitely buy again. Such a cool experiment for kids and the excitement on their face when they come back hours later to see that it's growing is so cool.

Very disappointed. Item did not come complete, only came with three hedgehogs and three colors, not four as described. Then containers are cracked, but supposed to have boiling water poured in them. This is very dangerous to burn children. Stay away

If you're considering getting this cute little science kit, you must! This high-end kit comes with everything you need and easy instructions. The colors are bright and the package comes with multiple hedgehogs making it a fun idea for a party or birthday activity.

They are kind of fun. But hard to do with little kids cause they aren’t suppose to touch the liquid. So they could basically only watch me do it. I was hoping there would be more steps they could take part in. I don’t like that the spiky part of the hedgehog is not attached to the base. That aspect makes the crystals keep falling off and breaking. As you can see, there is no red or yellow. It ends up being orange and pink. It’s still kind of fun though.

This was a fun activity with my kids, they all grew different so that was pretty cool. We also left them in for 48hrs as per a recommendation from a product review.My kids loved it, we bought the tree version as well so we will be recommending this for sure.***be careful, it does stain surfaces if not cleaned off right away. Came off my fingers well with soap***
