Dear Mr. A: thank you for this wonderful book. I received it today and just read it to my 6 year old. He is familiar with the National Anthem because he is a big Bruins fan and loves Rene Rancourt's rendition. This was a terrific way to broaden his thinking about the anthem and he loved the story and illustrations. We stopped to talk about each page in detail. This is a great book describing how the "Star Spangled Banner" came to be written. It is very informative and interesting; I had never heard the story behind this wonderful poem that became our national anthem. I was happy to read it myself and even happier to share it with my children. The illustrations are very pretty, too. I used this with my children and with our American Heritage Girls troop.

My grandson wanted to learn the Star Spangled Banner. I ordered this beautiful book with enclosed C D and it was a major hit.
