Good value for money, especially if you own other AAA rechargeable batteries!
I bought these because they were half the price of the ones I covet, hanging in my neighbour's garden! They are intended to stick in the ground, but they have a spike that fits a short pole, and with cable tidies, it's possible to have them hanging and/or in the ground by fixing the pole to a post and sticking the spike directly into the lantern and the pole to hang them, or bring it down from post to stick directly into the ground! February is too soon to verify if I've wasted my money, but when 2 of the six failed, I unscrewed their backs to find, to my delight, that they use standard triple A [AAA] rechargeable batteries. The ones fitted are an unbelievably low 100mAh! I expect even the batteries from the £1 shop are higher than that! So I am currently conducting an experiment: I've put a 300mAh in one lantern and a 900mAh in another, to see if, with the higher capacity battery, it stays on for longer, or whether, on a bright day, a higher capacity battery will make it stay on for longer or whether 100mAh will take all the sunshine available. I'll keep you posted.

Okay at first - but they don't last
I bought a set of 6 these lights just over a year ago and mounted them on short wooden posts of different heights, and they looked great. After problems with one, I bought a spare set of 6 about 11 months ago. However, I am now down to 5 lights with 7 having stopped working. I tried changing the battery for a new (good quality) reachargeable and cleaned the terminals, but that made no difference. As soon as the replacement battery had run down after putting it in charged, everything stopped again because it is failing to reacharge. The lights look really good on the posts, but the design is flawed if the average working life is so limited. The 6 posts are out in the open, but in a fairly sheltered area so it's not like the lights have been subjected to extreme conditions either. And with 7 out of 12 gone, this isn't a problem with just one or two lights either. 'Durable and will last for years' - nope, not in my experience of two sets of them.

Very Suprised
Bad bits-Packaging very poor, amazed the lamps arrived in one piece.Very cheap construction with soft poor quality plastic.Good bits-They worked straight out of the box, with only a few hours charging outdoors they lasted for hours. The lamps are bright enough for my uses, a blue / white light; just enough to illuminate the edge of the footpath. They survived a solid day and night of rain with no sunlight and still came on as normal, despite my concern that they would not be waterproof. So very surprised, for the price I am overall pleased; just one star deducted for mainly the poor box they came in.# Update, after a couple of months use the lamps are failing, some on for a bit and others not at all; not impressed after a good start so have given two stars not the four originally.

Brilliant quality and super bright light.
I bought these to line my driveway and they do an excellent job. The units themselves are sturdy, and the solar panels are big enough to charge the cells inside. They come on every night and dusk and don't go off again until dawn. The light is a very white/blue light, diffused through the translucent covers. This gives a very pleasing light spread and looks very classy. You could almost be tricked into thinking these are mains powered.I actually prefer warm white to cold so I experimented with desoldering the LED's and replacing them with warm white straw hat ones. This worked very well and is an option should you wish to do it. Not sure how it would affect warranty though!

Lovely lights just poor batteries provided.
2nd set of these l have just received. 1st set of 6 looked so lovely in my garden l ordered 6more! See in reviews folk saying stopped working or not very bright. I agree some dim bit easy answer. Remove back plate 4small screws only and remove battery provided, and replace with new one. Batteries provided are substandard l think. New battery's does the trick nice bright lights. 4stars because of poor batteries otherwise delighted with purchase

No light cast, just blue phosphorescent glow
These are supremely tacky and must be handled with care to stop them falling to bits. They are made from the same kind of slightly bendy plastic as tupperware containers. The light is blue not white. They don't illuminate anything around them, they just glow within themselves like something phosphorescent. They cost just over two pounds each and you clearly get what you pay for.

Good price and good product
Really like these lights, have been looking for these for ages and happened to come across them whilst browsing on the internet. Look good where I have made a chinese type area in the garden which I have encircled with these lights. Would recommend and buy again. Quick and safe delivery.
