2" Low Profile Shower Drain with 2" x 1-1/2" Reducer Pipe Fitting and Perforated Strainer- PVC Side Outlet Drain Assembly for Replacement Shower Base and Drain

I was installing a basement shower in a location where the drain was 3 feet away. I didn't want to raise the shower up too much and create a tripping hazard. Every other shower drain I looked at required too much room on top of needing to add a P trap. This is as low profile as you can get and it has worked perfectly. Only had to raise my shower up 4.5 inches above the floor to make everything fit.

This fits well on standard shower tub meant to take 2 inch drain. It is space saving and seals well. I think if thinner rubber gasket is not used and only white coking used on upper side , it will work ok too. I used both rubber gaskets. Paper one all the way at bottom then thick rubber one on top , then pan/ tub, then thin rubber gasket .Regarding 2 inch to 1.5 reducer, I cut it in half length and glued to this drain as it won’t go all the way in the drain female side, this saved space with the.With joists that can not be cut, this seem only way to do the project.

During a tub-to-shower conversion ran into an issue where the location of the drain wasn't aligned with the shower pan. Additionally, there wasn't enough clearance from the pan to the floor to do a traditional style drain. Luckily, found this solution and saved the project!
