Ok
Cute product. Hard to adjust. And note pad falls out when you bend over.

Good idea, fall short on execution
This set includes a kid’s size nylon belt with an adjustable plastic buckle, a field scope with a small magnifying glass and ruler, and mini notepad in a little plastic case, a pencil and a small girl-scout style patch. I like the idea of a toy that will get my children out to investigate and explore nature. Unfortunately the execution of this one leaves something to be desired. The quality of the items is very low for the price point and overall, doesn’t offer things you wouldn’t likely already have. My almost six year old didn’t understand how the belt helped him to explore, as the items don’t really spark the imagination. For the listed price, I’m not particularly impressed.

Fun, but not perfect.
It didn't take my two boys long to turn into safari adventurers with this fun set. I have a fenced in acre out back so they were able to get out and have some fun exploring. They didn't really use the notebook at all, and I figure most kids wouldn't either. Maybe they could have replaced that with some other helpful tool?

Great components!
My son really liked this, but more for the components than for the whole package. He used the pencil and the notepad to write little "secret" notes and leave them around the house for me to find.He used the belt as a weapon/ammo belt for some NERF guns and darts. He attached the magnifying glass to a NERF gun as an "optical sight."(He did take the whole set out into the backyard once to explore, but he got about 3884 mosquito bites per minute, so he came back inside pretty quickly).Overall, assuming you want it to be used for its intended purpose and not MacGyvered into other things, I'd say it's a pretty good set for the 4-6 age range.

A toy designed to encourage nature studies, but may require some encouragement from adults.
This is a fun little kit for a nature-loving child who loves hiking and exploring. It gives them a purpose for being outdoors, taking notes, drawing sketches of wildlife, and examining specimens close up with the portable microscope. Basically everything fits into a little case, and the case fits onto the belt, which also has a couple of D-rings and loops so additional items can be added. A child involved in nature studies may love it. Other children may not get the point of it.

Plastic tool belt for exploring, best suited for role playing
Our family is outdoor fanatics! All our free time is activities outdoors, especially traveling to State and National Parks. We love sharing these adventures with our children and grandchildren.Hiking is a vital part of these trips and exploring nature is the key. We encourage our kids to look at leaves, bugs, trees, flowers, paw prints, etc. I really thought an explorer's belt would be a really nice tool for our kids to use. This little safari utility belt is more suited for role playing than actual adventures. It is made of a very, cheap, plastic and is very limited.Basically, the belt includes a foldable, Magnifying glass, A "protective storage case" that holds little note cards. It also includes a small, iron-on patch of a footprint.I was a little disappointed in the quality of this kit and recommend that it is best used for role play.

Good concept, cheaply made
We have a bug bucket insect habitat that comes with everything for exploring nature. This is a decent addition to our out door exporting tools for field trips. However, seems overpriced for the quality. It’s fairly cheaply made of plastic.
