I am giving this item a review before fitting and using,in part because it appears to be of good manufacture but also because I believe it can be of even greater value to those considering its purchase- How? Simply by the inclusion of assembly instructions/diagrams showing what goes where!Now,just like so many,I am aware that the fitting of electrical fittings,connections and wiring are now covered by a multitude of regulations preventing the consumer from self fitting and a qualified electrician must be used. This I can understand where a degree of complexity is involved- but this unit is,in many case,bought as a complete replacement unit and simply needs connecting to existing connector from old fitting!This is why I suggest clearer details/diagrams because the unit,when opened,contains:1.A pack of plastic clips,4 screws+ plugs,2 metal triangular shapes,2 stainless steel clips and a cable gland.2. Inside there are 2 plastic ties attached at one end only with metal paperclip fitting at other end!There are other query areas but basically common sense will prevail.So ,my point is,why provide a great overall product which only needs simple self connection and fall down by not indicating where and how each bit fits,what is the intention of the metal triangles,plastic strips with paper clip etc etc? Why not add/provide information and bingo!- all will be clear.With the current charge,by electrician,costing more to fit than the complete unit,I believe this provision will bring return purchasers- it certainly would in my case!

After unpacked the item, it was noticed that the item was dismentled. It needed to be set up the whole fitting by your own. Though it was quite a simple set up to me, it should come with some intallation guide for those who have no good knowledge on DIY. Furthermore, it had a quite light in weight with a flimsy parts and casing. It needed to be handle d carefully. There was also a downside on the mounting fitting. It had an option for hanging type and using bracket fixing type, but by using the latter option, the distance between the two brackets was considered lack of flexibility. They needed to be fixed apart between about 80cm and 110cm. If the lamp is to be fixed onto the joists, fixing points are a consideration. The lamp could offer instant lighting without any waiting time.As it was not clearly stated on the list that a setting up is needed , so I graded it a 4 stars.

Instructions are useless and you end up assembling / reassembling several times before it is right

Purchased 2 of these for the workshop. Easy to fit although I employed an electrician to wire.

compared to the one I already have in the bathroom, this one is really smart....not fittted until next weekend, bit looks great in the box
