This does come with what you need to make the little animal.Problem is, the "absolute beginner instructions" it comes with, are very basic and really don't explain how to actually start. It shows something for how you make the loops, but it doesn't show how to start. The video does show step by step instructions, from the very beginning, but, for me, the camera is not zoomed in enough to show actually how it is done. I would, personally, like to see it zoomed in completely on the yarn and hook, with very little of the hand showing. I have bad eye sight, and it is hard for me to make out exactly how the yarn is being manipulated.If the vide was better quality, and the paper instructions were better, this would definitely get a higher rating from me.I'm kicking myself for not having my mother teach me how to crochet. She was a master at it, and made highly ornate and intricate lace with yarn that was as thin as thread.

I've been able to knit since I was a child, but crochet is hard as hell to me for some reason. The kit is lovely, and comes with everything you need. The directions are a little shifty, but there's a video. Between their video and others, I think I'm making progress.

The crochet hook has a hard time grabbing and hanging on to the yarn. The instructions may be confusing to young kiddos, the video is more helpful but goes quickly, so once again that may be harder for kids to grasp. I helped my daughter start her circle. I ended up using another crochet hook I had on hand. Overall this is a cute set, but does need some small improvements!

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to crocheting, so I thought I'd give it a try. The hook is absolutely awful and frustrating to use. It does not grab the yarn very well. My boyfriend, who has some experience with crocheting, confirmed the hook was no good. I'll be ordering some different hooks. Until then, this lil dino will be on hold.The paper instructions are confusing, but the video is very helpful. Also, I found the yarn itself unravels very easily.

This is a nice little starter kit for someone (like me) who is learning. I've seen similar kits for sale from other companies with much higher price tags. This one seems to be a good value.I like that it has all the items needed, and that the yarn is measured out for you. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm pretty confident that I will be able to. Before this I did crochet a couple of very simple square / rectangle items, so I'm not coming into this with absolutely no experience (though I still have so much to learn).This would make a great gift as well.

I feel like even though they say this is for beginners; it is more for someone who has a few months of experience crocheting. I like the idea of this but was unable to execute it as my beginner skills were not up to the par of what this was expecting.Recommend this for someone who has 6 months to a year of crocheting.

This is such a cute diosaur but the instructions are a bit confusing. Once I got it though I was so excited to have it. I bet if you've done any crocheting before you'd have a fine time.

This beginner’s kit came with 2 different color yarn, stuffing, the crochet hook needed, written instructions, and a QR code to video instructions. This amigurumi kit was the seventh that I have done. There were only a couple of stitches to learn in this kit.As an intermediate crocheter, I found the written instructions easy to follow. However, as a beginner, I would have had trouble following them. I found the video instructions hard to see due to it being a little dark and watermarks over the video. (Viewed on a phone screen)I am happy with how my project turned out; I created a very cute amigurumi to add to my collection. I really like how the thinner yarn and small hook created a tight pattern for the body. Using other manufacturer’s kits, I have struggled in the past with creating tight enough weave to keep stuffing from showing.
