PolyGuard is the single most effective medication to keep freshwater fish disease-free. It is an effective treatment and safeguard against all prevalent bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases of exotic fish. For use in freshwater or marine aquaria. When our pets are sick, we immediately want to reach for the most powerful medication on the shelf. However, sometimes the right choice to prevent stress is to opt for a gentler medication at first, especially with less severe infections. PolyGuard is among the strongest medications offered by Seachem, and is best used when you are unsure what disease you are treating or when the fish is suffering from multiple infections.

Great value combo pack. Will not harm biological cycle.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Anyone serious about the hobby knows that things happen that sometimes water changes just will not take care of, especially if you keep expensive fish it's all the more reason to keep emergency supplies on hand for your finned friends! Let me tell you personally I am not a very big believer or the user of such meds as I truly want nature to do it's thing. However just because I am not a big believer it does not mean I don't keep them on hand! Having kept fish for over 30 years I am a big believer of quarantining all be stock & and a maintenance freak you could say I pretty much know what water changes will cure and when to step in with a little help. Seachem brand meds are by far the best I have ever used at the same time they don't wreck havoc with your biological filtering nor do they discolor your tank decor like others. So if your looking for something to keep on hand pick up a couple sets of this 3 pack item and you will be ready for what ever pops up!

If your goldfishfish is allready sick, it's too late. If not, use a potassium permanginate dip.
Myth: "new tank syndrome is the leading cause of goldfish death."Reality: Most goldfish ordered through the mail are as good as dead before they reach the customer due to poor handling and quarantine practices of importers/fish farms. The stress of shipping weakens the immune system of the fish just enough to allow the opportunistic bacteria, parasites and fungus that they inevitably come with to take hold. I lost hundreds of dollars worth of Fancy goldfish and went through a ridiculous amount of useless products and chemicals before I figured out what was really happening. I had gone through just about every medicine from API and Seachem at some point or another with no success in curing anything but a simple case of ich. 90% mortality rate seams to be about standard for mail order fish no matter what I do. Without expensive lab tests, diagnosing an illness other than the most obvious ones such as ich or anchor worms is virtually impossible due to overlapping symptoms. PolyGuard is marketed as a cure-all to use if you don't know what's killing your fish, but It did not work on two separate occasions so far when I had fish that were sick with unknown pathogens. Water quality was good both times (pH. ammonia, nitrites, nitrates all within acceptable range) and well aerated, but the fish just stopped eating and sat on the bottom or top and slowly died. This is after I gave up on mail order fish and settled for what I could get at the pet store. The PolyGuard actually seamed to hasten their death. I then tried a different approach. I sterilized and re-cycled 3 10 gallon aquariums just like a did before and tried again with new fish from the same pet store, only this time I dipped the fish in 100g/L potassium permanganate solution for 5 min before transferring them to the aquariums. For the first time ever, I had zero losses, a month later I now have a healthy black more, two healthy pearl scales, and a healthy panda more.

Follow the directions
I had some kind of outbreak in my tank from a fish I brought home. I was losing five fish a day many of which I've had for years. I tried several time tested products and the disease ran right through them. I then tried polygaurd paying strict attention to the directions . Within eight days of the starting treatment I stopped losing fish and others showed signs of getting better. Three weeks later and I'm still using it as I restock the tank. It's always stressful losing fish but as I look back to evaluate what I went through I have little doubt polygaurd did its job.

My betta died after the first dose
Purchased this product to treat a betta fish with saprolegnia fungus based on recommendations I found online. Prior to my administering the first dose of PolyGuard to the water the fish appeared to have improved, was eating well and very active in the tank. I have used many Seachem products in the past and have always been happy with the results. Despite my following the directions exactly 6 hours later my fish was dead. I feel terrible about it. Because of my experience with other Seachem products I assumed this product would be safe. After putting it in the tank I laid down to sleep leaving my fish unsupervised. I will be returning the unused portion for a refund and will not use this product again.

Combined With Other Seachem Products, Polyguard Cured My Goldfish’s Mouth Rot
Seachem Polyguard, along with Seachem Kanaplex mixed with Focus, Seachem Garlic, and my goldfish’s regular Hikari food, saved him from a bad case of mouth rot. It was a slow process, taking approximately two months, with very gradual progress and frequent water changes. I tried Kanaplex alone and Polyguard alone and I didn’t see progress, so I began to treat the water with Polyguard and offer the Kanaplex with food. That’s what worked for me. I also added StressGuard and Melafix to the water daily to help with healing. Mouth Rot is a tough one, but as I learned, it is curable.

A Life Saver!
I had a severe case of ick brought in by some fish I bought at the big box pet store. I was sure it would wipe out my entire community as it had done 20 years earlier but I came across this at the store and it worked without needing to set up a quarantine tank! Amazing product!

Comprehensive fish med
I have 3 tanks. Fish were flashing in 2 of them. Suspecting skin/gill flukes.Due to Canada’s ban on fish medication, I was shocked to be able to get some.Simple to use, all my fish actually seemed more content when dosing the tanks. It will dye any clear plastic/rubber to a baby blue colour. All plants seemed to be unaffected by the medication except for moss balls, which is a giant ball of algae.Instructions say to dose 4 times in a two week period or until symptoms disappear. After the fourth dose I noticed the tiniest amount of flashing so I dosed for the fifth time and that seems to have done the trick.

Doesn’t work don’t waste your money
I resorted to this because Canada has made it impossible to find any decent fish medications in hopes that this would help with some parasites in my Goldfish tank.End result is that we still have no decent meds at our disposal because this crap did nothing.Very expensive product that did nothing but dye my media blue.Very unhappy.
