Original Album Classics

I wanted the Stray Cat's second album from 1981 Gonna Ball as a CD so that I could rip it into in iTunes Apple Lossless (ALAC), as I already had their first Stray Cats [1981] and third Rant N' Rave with the Stray Cats [1983] and loved them both. However the 'Gonna Ball' CD album was so expensive that I ended up buying this great value triple album set as it was cheaper (and I didn't want the compressed MP3 download version). Obviously this triple CD set is even better value if you don't have the other two Stray Cats albums on CD. The three cardboard LP slip cases and the thin cardboard outer sleeve make the whole set very compact, and it was great value new at £6.82 incl. postage from MovieMars-USA, as I didn't mind waiting the 12 days from order to airmail delivery.There was no difference at all between my individual 1st and 3rd album CDs and the ones in this triple CD pack, in terms of track order and sound quaility as far as I can see/hear. I also found no problems when playing the Stray Cats first album (another reviewer mentioned it). Perhaps the problem's the tiny stereo shift in 'Fishnet Stockings' for a second, 56 seconds into the track and another similar one in the 'Rumble in Brighton' intro, which I thought were part of the tracks - it's also on my individual Stray Cats CD, so there's not much I can do about it anyway.In 'Rant'n'Rave in this CD set, there is still the word 'ass' bleeped out on the superb first track Rebels Rule, but I'm used to that now. Granted the beep is quite funny on the Youtube video, thanks to Brian acting it out, live on stage back in 1983 [StrayCatsVevo], which is perhaps why the Stray Cats are happy for it to be kept in on the album track. I saw the Stray cats live in Leeds during the 1980s and loved their Rockabilly style, the energy of the songs, and they really looked the part as well (I'm a similar age to Stray Cats guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer).

Great album but I'm biased

The first three UK Stray Cats albums come housed in a card slip case outer (inside they're miniature facsimile albums with slim card covers) and this is a pretty good value for money set, though there does appear to be a few mastering fluffs on album one. The first two are easily the best (with their debut sounding as fresh and vital as it did in '81) with classic cuts a plenty. A good set for those who remember them way back when and a good one for the modern day revivalist to check out and enjoy! Time has been good to this band.

Odd ain't it, I still have the LP (the first one "Stray Cats" ) but in playing the CD I can still hear all the clicks and scratches. In my opinion, Stray Cats is their best album, hearing it for the first time in years, still good, it is not past its "sell-by date" one tip, play it on 11. Have to go, my memory is telling me that I have to lift the needle ! I gave it four stars because the other 2 albums not as good, I think, otherwise if it had been StrayCats only Oi'll 'ave give it a foive

Have been a fan since the start & have all the early stuff on vinyl, picture discs, imports etc.So when I saw this album I had to buy. Love it..takes me back to listening to the vinyl albums all those years ago!!If you're a Stray Cats fan..buy it...

Complete bargain. The first album is their best imo and is full of quality rocking tunes along with those classic early singles. The next two are great but with declining quality.
