Murder on an Irish Farm: An addictive cosy crime novel full of twists (An Irish Village Mystery Book 8)

Murder on an Irish farm
This story was one I missed through reading a later book, no problem as the story focuses almost entirely on a wedding day. Two wedding days, same date, fifty years apart. Neither wedding was completed on that date. In one case, because the groom vanished, thought to have done a runner. In the recent case, because the groom's skeleton is unexpectedly uncovered that morning. Will the hard-working Gardai, Siobhan and Macdara, ever get married? They insist on solving the mystery and potential crime before taking personal time. I like the details of agriculture and rural life, with a Harris hawk from the local wildlife centre to update the situation. Earlier books in this lively series focused on the town. We still find Americanisms like tuxedo, restroom and center (dinner jacket, bathroom or gents' and ladies' rooms, centre) while 50 years ago, the Irish economy used pounds, but not British pounds sterling, we had our own currency. Those aside, it's a very good read with focus on characters and isolated rural life. This is an unbiased review.
