Smartwool PhD Outdoor Light Micro Sock

I wear these 100% merino wool socks all year, every day. I have many pairs. They keep me warm in the winter and breathe in the summer. They are not bulky. When walking, they don't slip into my shoes. They don't itch. My feet are kept the perfect temperature and do not feel clammy from sweat. They are very much worth the price compared to the performance of other socks I've tried. I wear a 9-9.5 women's shoe and use the medium-sized sock. My husband bought me a size L last year and they are just too big. I can wear the L, but there is too much bulk to fit some of my shoes. The medium are perfect! P.S. I hang them to dry rather than use the dryer.

I have a lot of foot problems and pain, and it's surprising how even socks can make a difference. I am in love with 'Balega' socks, but my feet do get sweaty and eventually smelly after a day at work or the gym. I'm a size 5 1/2 and purchased a small, they fit perfectly. I thought, I'm insane for spending $18 on SOCKS!, what if I lose one? After many wears and washes, these are totally WORTH IT. My feet are significantly less sweaty, they do not slide down (very similar to Balega), and because of less sweat there is hardly any odor. I only have the one pair for now, and only pull them out on special occasions (long flights, super hot days, days where I know I'll have to take me shoes off after wearing them for a while). I love these and will be putting savings away to hopefully one day have 7 pairs of super expensive $18 socks.

Wow!!! These are the most comfortable pair of socks I ever will wear. I took them hiking for several days and they never sweated on me. Amazing!!!! I never wore Merino wool because of people saying that wool for summer is no good. Wrong! These are special wool socks and they are not itchy or overly thick. They did the job. Love this socks forever.

I love smartwool socks. I like this low style and have a few different colors. I recently added the charcoal color to my collection and was a bit disappointed that the lavender accent color was not as pronounced on the sock as it appears to be in the photo. It's still a nice sock. Just an FYI.

These socks are great for hiking! I typically hike 8-12 miles at a time, and can tell a difference in my foot comfort when wearing these compared to normal socks. The extra padding is much-appreciated, and they breath well enough that my feet don't get too hot in the Texas heat.

Very nice quality and fits length of my size 6 feet. Only complaint is the toe compartment width is for big feet and is so wide it bunches up and hurts my feet. I had to use a thread and needle to make it smaller and it’s still not comfortable

The large amount of 5-star reviews are to be believed. These socks will do you right. I have been using and abusing them for over a month and they still look pretty nice (see picture). They are super comfy for my early morning bike rides to school with my kid. Also great for walking/running. Since they're wool I can get away with wearing them for a few days without washing them and they don't smell.They are a really nice thickness. Not so thin my feet freeze when it's cold but they aren't super hot during the warmer days either. If you are looking for more padding, you might try something heavier than the "light" but for me, I think this is the perfect all around weight.
