Very very noisy
Due to our very warm summer we decided to buy an air con unit. Took for ages to sort the wheat from the chaff, untill we came across this one. At £400 it's certainly not the cheapest, but figured that pay the money and you should get a decent product.First WOW!!! even on its lowest setting it sounds like a 747 has parked up outside. It's incredibly noisy so beware!Otherwise it does do the job. The window kit supplied is ok if you have sliding windows. And it really cools the room down fast. It is very heavy so the castors are a god send. Did I mention just how noisy it was?

Photo is what you will actually receive.
The seller Appliances Direct and the Amcor distributor are the same company. And customer service is bloody awful.I bought direct from their website as it was slightly cheaper, but the buying/delivery/complaints procedure would have been exactly the same as if I had bought through Amazon, as it wasn't a Prime product. I was dealing directly with them, just as you will if you buy from here. The model number and basic machine is the same, but it's a cheaper version you'll receive. The one they send out doesn't have have touch controls, instead a button for each set of controls. The nice colourful and easy to read display? You don't get that. Just a two digit display that shows current temperature (when off), and desired temperature when running. The unit always thought it was 2 degrees warmer than it was and after use the reported temperature would often go crazy - climbing to 10 degrees or higher than actual.I complained. Eventually got another unit after a month (went 2 weeks in this weather with no AC) and it was the same wrong, cheaper unit. again. You can't actually find this version anywhere on the Amcor site or anywhere on the internet.Again, it always thinks it 2 degrees higher than reality, but it's constant in this and has no other problems. The pros? Insanely powerful and efficient and the heat pump is going to be very useful and cost efficient. After I'd bought I found a high-street retailer selling the same thing for the same price (reportedly the touch screen version) with free delivery, which made the £20 delivery charge I'd had to pay pretty galling. The dehumidifier function is basically useless unless you're plumbing it in. The plugged outlet is so low you can't get any sort of container under it to drain water from the unit. It's a real design flaw. So, you won't get what you expected, there are some flaws, but it's fantastic at cooling an apartment. And price-wise it's more powerful and efficient than just about anything else. Also worth noting, people often say how noisy it is. My first one was insanely loud just on the low setting, and really made noise when the compressor kicked in and out. The second one is far quieter in every way, but cools just as well. So if you've got a loud one it might be worth trying another.

Very effective, heats and cools the room quickly, as other people have mentioned it's not quiet, but as it's powerful you don't need to have it on all the time
