Easy to set up RE815XE
I had read some reviews about the RE815XE and was a bit apprehensive given the price, but I kept an eye out for it to come on sale and bought it.The TP-Link AXE5400 router is great and was suited to my needs. Large old house, a lot of brick or stone walls internally. However having my home internet upgraded from 30MB to 500MB due to a new fiber link (I had the option of up to a 1.6GB/s fiber link, this seemed overkill for me so I opted for the 500MB/s).Due to the internet upgrade I was going to need something more than a strong 2.5ghz signal given the increase in bandwidth. The RE815XE has brought a strong 5.2ghz band across the whole house - partlly because its a really good piece of kit and partly because I was fortunate to be able to position it really well.Highest speed I can get in my office with fiber is 80MB without the RE815XE, with it installed I have not yet found a capacity limit for a 500MB fiber connection. Latency has not been an issue either as I usually play 40K DarkTide and other FPS online games and have not had an issue with latency. For some reason I have never detected a WiFi 6 connection despite my PC and mobile phone being capable of using it, on either the AXE5400 or the RE815XE. I have read elsewhere that in the UK the WiFi 6E on this model is used as a backhaul in order to increase bandwidth capacity. I am unsure how accurate this is, I just know that the RE815XE has allowed me to make the most out of my new fiber connection and I have no issues in recommending it.Just wait for it to come on sale as it is a good, though pricey bit of kit.

Definitely Works!
This tp-link AX1500 Wi-Fi Range Extender has solved our problem. We recommend it. We live in a 3-bedroom flat, with one bedroom used as an office to work from home so signal strength and reliability are critical. Last month we changed our broadband provider and router equipment from Virgin to Sky. The signal in the office got worse which was unexpected as it is not far away but there are two room doors and some furnishings which may obstruct. I was having issues, sluggish, freezing on Zoom calls, audio cut outs, unable to swiftly load multiple tabs/pages. Using the Windows Command prompt, I took over 45 readings of the signal strength coming into the laptop over four weeks. The signal strength was below 69% over half the time and never higher than 81%-85% and then only very infrequently. Since getting the AX1500, all readings at all times with all doors shut are above 90% (92%-97%). My work laptop is faster, snappier, and no more cutting out on Zoom calls. The extender device was super easy and fast to set up. I was happy to be a little surprised that this extender works so well, exceeding my expectations - as some of the other reviews were not as positive and it made me hesitant to purchase for a week or two, until the poor performance forced me to take a chance and buy it. I am so glad I did. I hope your experience with it will be a positive as ours.

They work really well, 150 MBs plus
Combined with a TP link router in Mesh mode, these provide reliable 150MBs comms. However! Don't use more than two. Or if you do, make sure that third one is in open space or out in the shed 20M away.I've got trouble with reflections in some parts of my house. The front hall has small, heavily bricked areas and anything there bounces wifi around. Plcament of the router and repeaters needs lots of testing and thought. The router in the garage (my workspace) combined with one of these extenders each end of the large open plan living room/diner works fantastically.Put a third one close to one of the others (upstairs, through RF invisible wood) or in the reflective front hall - and collisions abound. Result is a confused router, little or no bandwidth and sadness. The open, thought-out and tested plan using just two expanders is bullet proof and fast :-)

Product failed during warranty period
I bought two of these extenders and installed them in different parts of the house. The installation process was straightforward and there was a big improvement in WiFi coverage throughout the property. However, after 8 months the first unit started intermittently disconnecting from the router and after 14 months the second unit also failed in this manner. I spent a lot of time and effort via TP-Link technical support trying to resolve the problem, but with no success. Eventually I decided to return both units, but was initially met with some resistance from both Amazon and the manufacturer. However, I persevered and obtained a full refund. I replaced the extenders with different models from the TP-Link range and so far, have had no further problems.

Keep it close to you
Works well for me but I have had to have it located right next to the location where I want to use my laptop. Having it +/- 1/2 way between router and laptop improved nothing.

Only works at 2.4 ghz even though it is supposed to be dual mode
Can't get it to work in dual mode. Only shows as 2.4ghz. Have checked router setting & 2.4 & 5 ghz are enabled.Other than that it works ok. It extends the signal on the 1st floor where it was too far away from the router before.

5G with OneMesh, but 6G sets up a new network
Overall a good device, excellent connection and easy to set up. Beware that beyond all the advertisement, the 6G network doesn't work with OneMesh; it sets up a new 6G_EXT network instead of just extending your router network like 5G, hence one star off. The 6G_EXT network works very well though, tried with PC VR streaming on Quest 3, with my PC cable-connected to the main router two rooms away, flawless so far.For my use case this device works great, and I got the device with discount. Hope future firmware and software update will make 6G OneMesh possible.
