Exactly what i wanted small hand held toy sickle, to be used for Halloween. IT does not feel like a flimsy soft plastic item, but feels like it will last a while.

The sickle is made of lightweight but sturdy plastic. Should last well so long as nobody sits on it. It has very little weight and no actually sharp parts, so it shouldn't be capable of injuring anybody in a crowded party situation. The painting consists of little more than some silver on the blade.Perfectly good as a basic party prop.But, for those considering it for more 'serious' cosplay activities or use as a weapon in the hands (claws) of a full-size static display creature or character, this sickle may be a good, reasonably inexpensive option. The detail on the handle of old, worm-eaten wood banded nearer the top by metal is actually not bad and, with some painting to bring that detail out, looks surprisingly good. The blade takes just a little more work to trim a couple of mould-lines down slightly and then layer up darker metal colours with a bright silver dry-brushing to pick out the detail - I also added a slight rust patina. Painting will depend what result you're after, obviously.With a little love and attention, this can look very good indeed.

Bought for Halloween and will do the job perfectly. Comes in parts which slot together. Quality seems good enough.

This is our 2nd purchase…. The first purchase was for a scythe that was missing one of the poles so was unusable.The second was for a replacement, they sent a scythe in a style different to the one ordered… my son was fine with that however after a minute of use it has already broken.Absolutely ridiculous. Not the cheapest Halloween prop either

Hollow plastic molded one handed scythe. It has more detail especially on the handle than others you get in kits. Its light and the measurements are the same as indicated on the website.Its ok for halloween if you need something like this and not overly expensive if its to finish your costume.It may be a little flimsy if used as a long term toy.3 stars from me. You need to decide whether the value is there for a one off (it is pretty cheap to be fair).

Review from my husband:This is a very solid scythe. It's not a sickle, it's a scythe. Now, it's great for Halloween to act as the Grim Reaper and terrify everyone making them think their time has come, leaving everyone giggling all together and having a wonderful Halloween party.....because the Grim Reaper is only 3ft high and can't scare the skin of a rice pudding.. It's tiny really and for 9 quid I would expect a little more length in my pole, excuse the pun. But you're not gonna scare anyone with a 30cm scythe, it's just been made way too small so it doesn't quite live up to its ultra tag, it even looks small in my 4-year-old twin's hands. It's almost like it's been hit with the Duke Nukem shrink ray or honey I shrunk the scythe. Mr reaper is PO’ed, but it is solidly built though. 4/5 at a push.
