ALTRAWomen's Torin 7 Road Running Shoe

I purchased the Women's Altra Torin 7 in an 8 wide. These shoes are way roomy in the toe box and adequate in the mid foot (the area where I have the most trouble). They have a nice level of cushioning and are fairly neutral feeling in the arch which I like. My feet aren't overly big or wide in the least, but I struggle finding shoes where I don't feel like I'm stepping on the hard outside edge at the mid foot area. The extra wide, foot shaped toe box is just a bonus for me. The fact that these are roomier AND come in wide is what led me to giving them a try for a change from my usual.My personal caveats are:1. Wides only come in one color. Not bad but would be nice to have options.2. Cushy, but I could go for a bit more.3. If you want to use orthotic inserts, most will not fill the entire toe box area (in fact, not sure if any exist that will accomplish that???). Just something to be aware of.4. On a personal preference note: I'm still unsure if I'm a zero drop gal or not. Most of the shoes I've worn for years and years have at least some drop from heel to toe and I'm still trying to adjust to these. As crazy as it sounds, I almost felt off balance when I first began to walk in these - like I had to work hard not to tip backward ha!. (I constantly had the sensation that my heel was actually sitting lower than my toes). I had read the warnings about changing from high drop to zero drop but still... the sensation was strange! I hope I will continue to adjust to the zero drop but if you're not used to it, just be aware that it's a different feel and ease in to wearing them.

I’m an Altra fan. I was disappointed these don’t have the classic wide sole. The width is adequate but I wasn’t sold until I had worn them for about a week. The cushion is amazing. It feels like walking on pillows! Which is also the downside to the shoe. It’s not for speed walking at all. My body really feels like it has to work for each step (think quicksand). A comfy shoe like this, wider sole, with a forward propulsion would be great. (Altra’s version of the rocker shoe is too hard and awkward). Better color choices would be nice (get some ideas from Brooks!) Even so, they’re a keeper.

Love the appearance, reminds me of old school converse, but with comfort. I like that I can wiggle and spread my toes out and the accommodate for when my feet swell in the heat. Very comfortable for walking, supportive and well cushioned, runs true to size. I wear them with and without socks. No rubbing, unlike other Altras that I have owned. I would recommend these.

I normally get the Altra Solstice II shoes, but figured I’d give these a shot. Not my best idea.I have wide feet and high arches. These weren’t comfortable to walk in. The outsides of my foot would burn with pain. So disappointing because they sure are some sexy shoes.

I immediately noticed my posture with standing, running and walking improved with these shoes. My knee and low back pain I experienced with my Hokas went away when I started wearing the AltraTorin 7's. I bought a second pair just for running as I have been wearing my current Torin's all the time because they are so comfortable. My legs feel energized wearing them vs other running shoes. I did need to exchange for a half size larger as the shoe did run smaller than expected. Otherwise. It fits my foot as well.

This shoe feels more like a Hoka in its rectangular fit. I used to love my Torins for their narrow heel and wide toe box. Now, I am bound to EBay and Poshmark for buying them. I hope they turn back.

I love these shoes. The wide toe box is perfect for my foot. This show has given me relief from the pain I have from plantar fasciitis. I will buy every color. This is my second pair.
