Definitely Worth The Money; Would Purchase Another
Since I"m new to the journal game, I will compare the Kesoto A5 to the other journal I have--the A5 Moleskine Classic Ruled. First off, I don't know why so many people love Moleskine journals. The line width is tiny (barely 1/4-inch) and that's bad news for people who write large (such as myself). Plus, the Moleskine paper is thin. I will admit I am a heavy writer but I only use ballpoint pens and there's plenty of ghosting, so the $21 I spent at Target to buy the Moleskine, in retrospect, was far too much. I will not be purchasing another Moleskine. With that said, on to the review of the Kesoto A5.The K5 is just a hair taller than my Moleskine but the K5 is about 1/2-inch wider when measuring the outside cover. The Moleskine's cover is harder than the K5's, but the K5's cover is still what I would consider a hard cover and it has a nice bend to it. However, the K5 is still sturdy enough to protect your writing and I feel confident it would stand up to travel, just like the Moleskine. The K5's paper is about the same as the Moleskine when it comes to thickness. I did some test writing in the K5 with the following ballpoint pens: Bic click black, Bic crystal black 1.0, Cross Calais black (medium), Bic blue crystal 1.0, Pentel RSVP Medium in black, blue, green, purple, pink, light blue, red, and orange. I've used all those pens in my Moleskine and can see all the writing on the next page. The same is true for the K5 so it's a draw. I don't like writing with gel pens but tested several black gel pens on both and there is much more ghosting. But that's OK because I don't like writing with gel pens. If you prefer using gel pens, then there's going to be much more ghosting and you should probably avoid the Moleskine and the K5 if you want to avoid ghosting because the paper in the K5 and Moleskine is the same. One big plus for the K5 is the width of the lines (3/8-inch). This is great news for people with large handwriting and this is the main reason why I bought the K5. The Moleskine lines measure at 1/4-inch and that's way too small. However, I was surprised at the K5 when I saw the lines were dotted. I looked at the photos online and could not tell they were dotted, as they looked like solid lines. I hate dotted lines and probably would've avoided the K5 if I knew they were dotted, but I'm glad I did buy the K5 because the dots are so small, that the lines look like solid. You would have to hold up the K5 until the paper hit your nose to see the dots. WIth that said, I'm glad I bought the K5--dotted lines and all.The K5's cover isn't leather but I knew that going in, because nobody would be selling a real leather journal at this price. With that said, the cover is a beautiful dark brown and it's pleasing to the eye. I also love the K5's pen loop on the right hand side, connected to the back of the journal. I use fat ballpoint pens and it can easily hold my Cross Calais, my Pentel RSVP medium ballpoint pens, and my Bic 4-colored pen with ease. All of these pens fit snugly and they aren't going anywhere so there's no need to worry about them falling out. I also love the K5's paper heading, as the top of the page has a few weather graphics so you can judge the day's weather, small boxes that represent the day, a separate place at the top of the page to record the date, and a small space above that, so you can record whatever you want. The K5's snug band will keep the journal closed because of the nice tension. Not too loose, not too hard. There is also a nice ribbon to keep your place so that's nice. Overall, this was a great purchase and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another K5, as this journal was bought to help me keep track of my weekly pro football picks. I look forward to using this journal on football Sundays to help me record all the joy and frustration that goes with watching pro football.

Great Notebook!
This notebook is great! The quality is exceptional. The design and structure of the notebook is wonderful. It makes it very easy to record notes throughout the day. The elastic band keeps it closed and the pen holder makes sure I always have a writing instrument handy.

For the price
Now to start off I’m a ham fisted man, I write heavy and I like a nice heavy pen too (that’s changed since I’ve started my fountain pen journey). Paper is nice no feathering minimal ghosting with a lighter hand. I’ve used Japanese F nibs, German EF nibs, Jin Hao M nibs they all write well on this paper. Anything would bleed through given you ink it long enough. The strap is nice and isn’t loose, same with the pen holder. Cover has a nice feel to it. It lays almost completely flat before break-in which is fine with me. For the price it’s worth a shot if you don’t want the splurge on Tamoe, or Rhodia books/paper.

Stylish Vegan Journal
This is a very nice Journal. However it is very wide Rule. And there is a header on each page that may not be what everyone wants (as in one page per date).Classic style.I also like the detail on the elastic around it.Also, not leather! (I didn't realize how many journals are.)Perfect gift for men.

Good journal for a good price
This was the most reasonably priced journal in this size that I was able to find. It is a perfect size to put in my nightstand and to do some light journaling.

Love the leather look
Perfect for taking notes during meetings. Paper is as thick as I would want and my ink doesn’t bleed through. I would have preferred that the loop to hold a pen would have been smaller or at least more sturdy. As it is, the pen just flops around uncontrollably. Not that big of a deal, so I didn’t mark it down in the stars

Smells a lot like fish
This is a pretty well made journal, but is smells awful, almost like rotting fish. I’ve had it for about 4 days now and the smell is still pretty strong.

Comoda e funzionale
