Overall this is a very nice safe. Here are my impressions:-Finish and keypad are impressive. It is much nicer looking than any hotel safe I have ever seen. Looks at least as good as the photos.- It has a hotel mode and residential mode. In hotel mode you put a new code every time. In residential mode it holds the same code.-It has a little LED light that illuminates the interior of the safe. Not very bright but better than nothing. Light is programmable.-The instructions are a 5 out of 10. Probably translated from Chinese. Pretty confusing but you can figure it out eventually.-The safe is much heavier than your average hotel safe but I would still like it to be a little sturdier. More specifically, the walls are a little thin and the hinges could be heavier.-the operation of the keypad is fantastic. It is responsive and sensitive. The numbers light up in a clear and elegant way. You can program it to show your code as you punch it in or not.-the electric bolts are super fast and smooth. it opens almost instantaneously.-the beeper is pretty loud and I don't see a way to turn it off without taking the door apart and accessing it directly and breaking it off the logic board (which I did and it took about 5 minutes)-if the batteries go dead it has an external battery pack with a micro usb cable to temporary power the safe. also has a physical key if all else fails.-I have owned another Protex safe for about 10 years and it has worked flawlessly so my expectation is that this one will be very reliable.
