Worked great for my 9-month-old puppy!
This is so much better than a cone in my opinion. The edges of cones catch on just about everything a dog walks past and scrape walls, furniture, legs, etc. But this inflatable dog collar is soft and literally bounces off of things with no damage. And, it did it's job well. Try as he might, my dog couldn't reach his stitches, and his incisions healed nicely. It seemed comfortable to wear and actually made a nice pillow for him when he slept. I'm not sure if it's chew proof as it wasn't possible for my dog to chew on it while it was around his neck (and I didn't take it off him for the full 7-day recovery period) but I gave that criterion 5 stars as well because of that fact. If a dog was able to get it off and play with it, it might get punctured. But, the fact it attaches to the dog's collar means you can get a perfect fit, and it shouldn't be possible for a dog to get out of it. My 9-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel wore a medium, which seemed huge at first. But, I quickly realized that if it was any smaller, he'd be able to reach his stitches. So, the medium worked perfectly. And, the collar seems durable. It never lost air, deflated easily, and the removable cover washed up beautifully. The only problem I had with it is that my dog put his leg though the velcro strap that holds the two ends together a few times. I'm not sure why that strap is so long--maybe to add stability to the design. This didn't hurt my dog at all--just slowed him down until I pulled his leg back through. And, that was really the only flaw with this collar that I noticed, and I'm not sure it really is a flaw. All in all, I'm very happy with the quality of design and construction and it's functionality.

Works Gentle - No Cone of Shame!
Stella is 10 years old and active. She has a cyst in her hind leg. I just put this on her tonight with meds on her leg without wrapping it. So far,PROs- Pup doesn’t try to get at her leg yet because she is distracted by the tube- This 100% NOT THE COLLAR OF SHAME. YAH!!! For people who are not familiar, the collar of shame is the hard plastic collar that comes out past the dogs, face and ears. Your pet has no peripheral vision and cannot see where they are going, it scares them, they bump into things, the collars can be rather terrifying.- This soft tube is inflatable. FYI - I received a new unused product in an unopened box in case you are wondering abt one of the reviews- I did not attach one of her collars to the tube as instructed. I didn’t want to freak her out bcs she does not wear a collar unless we are going out. Also, I thought it would be a bit less invasive in general. I just inflated the tube and released the Velcro strap, put it around her and put the strap back so it’s almost like a collar not too tight and she seems OK with it for now.- If for some reason Stella is able to damage the team be bcs I did not anchor it with a collar, that’s in me.- Pup can eat and drink normally. I was skeptical about this, but it is true. I’ve seen it for myself.- if your pet gets it dirty, whether it’s with food or rubbing on some thing, or even going outside, the tube is covered by a removable fabric, which you can wash or wipe down.- Pup still happily guarding from the porchCONs- I will add updates as we try to heal this wound.- It is not indestructible like most hard plastic “collars of shame”.- I would not leave your pet unsupervised (even in a crate) if you will be away for any length of time. It’s definitely soft and could be deflated or pulled apart. You don’t want leave your pet with that kind of thing going on if they really decided needs to go- Pink color is going to get dirty fast. Hardly a con but be aware.

Worked great for my beagle
I bought this before having my beagle neutered so I could get him accustomed to it before the big day. I didn't have high hopes for it, because he's a maniac and would likely pop it in no time. When he came home from surgery, he had that horrific plastic cone that they give all dogs on his head. He couldn't eat, go for walks outside, or get comfortable. I had a soft cone from when I had my other beagle, but it was short, so I was afraid that long tongue of his could still reach to places it wasn't supposed to be...so I ended up using both the donut and cone together. The donut prevented the cone from sliding back too much . Honestly though, he really didn't need the cone when the donut was on. He couldn't get to anything with the cone on, except for his front legs and his back paws. I only added the soft cone when I wasn't home because I worried he might be able to pop the donut as something to do while he was bored home alone. With his name being Rocky, I felt the flag one was perfectly suitable for him. He usually wears a flag bandana. Now that he's fully recovered, I still use the donut because he's constantly licking his crotch and rear, and it drives me insane, especially when he's on the bed....eeeuuuw yuck. He also knows the word "donut", because I say "I'm getting the donut" if he's living to obsessively, and he looks at me and sighs in annoyance 😂I really do love it though because he seems to be very comfortable in it. He falls right to sleep after I put it on. The only reason he might not like it is because it prevents him from obsessively licking. For reference to the photos, Rocky is a 33 pounder, and the size of the donut is Large.I hope this review helps you make the decision to buy. It has helped us so much... during and after his surgery.

This is not a substitute for Elizabethan collar!
It was so hard to inflate this by mouth! But after I finally made it, my dog didn't mind having it on.Although it is much comfortable for your dog, please make sure to put back his original collar back when you are not able see and prevent your dog from licking. Our dog managed to lick his post neutering wound and reopen it, so we had to put back the original plastic (Elizabethan) collar and extend his rest and recovery days!He was wearing the inflatable collar during the day, while we were able to watch over him, but definitely make sure not to leave your dog unattended with it on. Especially if you have a medium size/ large dog- most dogs will find a way to lick their wound without the Elizabethan collar on.Overall, good product but a very risky substitute!

Would recommend
My boy Loki a 60kg DDB is using a size XL which fits well, he is suprisingly accepting of it. He unfortunately gets hotspots due to allergies and this time he has one on his cheek which he has scratched until bleeding. This will help stop that until healed thankfully. It was easy to blow up and pop the collar through to attach to the doughnut.

Dog will wear it
Purchased xl for my 28kg lab who has recently been castrated. He’s happy to wear it which is half the battle and sometimes uses it as a pillow when he’s asleep. It could do with being a little wider as with Will and determination he can sometimes reach the parts he shouldnt. Still prefer this to the body suit the vets give you or the plastic cone of shame. The xl size only just fits. Can use with or without his collar

Scratchy dog
My dog will not stop scratching, hence the reason I bought it. She hates wearing it, so in way, it works

Does the job!
Useful collar and worked for what I wanted it for, not sure if it was comfortable as my dog hated it and learnt how to get it off, My dog is an escape artist with collars and harnesses so that's not surprising. But it stopped him from licking his leg where he has a sore something he was made worse by constantly licking it and biting the fur out, hopefully, this will help it heal more quickly then it has been.
