ESPRESSO VARIETY PACK (100 Count) Lavica Discovery Series Nespresso Compatible Coffee Capsules

In the "not good" camp on these. Tried 4 so far of the 5 variety pack. All taste very bitter with no rich coffee taste. Tastes a bit watery and burnt like another user said. A ristretto shot (even less than an espresso brew) *might* give proper coffee flavor with these but holy crap it would be so bitter it would be intolerable.2 stars because the pods did brew well in my CitiZ machine, and did give a good crema. But the taste.... HORRIBLE. And the packaging?? All pods are individually wrapped in foil although the pods themselves are plastic. Such a waste of material and space - a large-ish box with all that packaging just to hold 10 small pods. I also didn't like that there were no flavor profile descriptions on each blend's packaging... just a bunch of foo foo text. There is a number rating for strength only. I guess it's because they all taste the same - from bitter to MORE bitter. Really sorry I wasted money trying to "save" money by trying something different than the genuine Nespresso capsules. Live and learn.

The Amabile was tasty and filled the room with coffee smell when brewed. Made an americano with one pod and it was good. Made some lattes and mochas with 4 more and they were good.Used Italiano pods for mochas this morning. No aroma during brewing to speak of, and kind of a plain flavor, nothing special at all. The shot looked weak.The first Oro pod I tried the other day was not good... made an americano and dumped it after a sip. The flavor was, well.... foul. Tried another Oro pod today as an Americano, but I went into it more critically. Sniffing the pod before brewing yielded a faint, but present smell like rubber. The americano was not as bad, but undrinkable. I checked the next pod in the Oro bag and the smell is fainter still. I believe I got nailed by poor quality control and maybe had part of a gasket or something in the pod. I am now hesitant on these at all.The plastic pods give me concern for the life of my machine. Everything is stiff during insertion and ejection, unlike the smooth operation with aluminum pods. The price versus that of Nespresso pods is just not (in my opinion) great enough to counter the potential extra wear on the machine and replacement cost if something breaks.[EDIT]Tried a Decaffinato....I should have sniffed the pod first. It has the same foul rubber smell to the brew.

In my opinion, these are the best coffee pods I tried so far for the Nespresso machine. Unfortunately, not all flavors in this varsity combo are available at Amazon separately - Amazon - are you listening?

Coffe arrived on time and well packed. We tend to lean towards the more European strong blends and this mix gave us a good idea of the different flavors available. We found a couple of favorites that we will be ordering in the future!

My wife loved these better than Nespresso's own capsules; these were also better per capsule than what Nespresso was selling.She says the flavors are so much better, and that they have a much fresher taste than the Nespresso capsules! Definitely will be buying again.

Excellent choice because it comes in 5 different types and each type is actually different in taste then the next one. Each different taste is worth to try and not one was not good so i will reorder it again... Price wise it was VERY competitive compared to the Nestle brand, almost half price.

I was very pleased with this at first since I was saving quite a bit, then later on the espresso hardly came out.I had to keep hitting the button. Finally switch back to the actual Nespresso capsules and no more problems.

This is a very reasonable alternative to Nesspresso Brand.. Functions flawlessly. I have run several hundred through my Nesspresso machine without failure. Taste is about 90% as good as Nesspresso but the cost is much less. We use them for lattes. It makes s great latte.
