Lightweight backpack with helpful pockets
This backpack is super light and has manu helpful pockets. I used it as my personal item on a international flight. I was able to carry my laptop and a change of clothes. Then I used it as a day pack when I hiked. I am very pleased.

Great as a day pack or perhaps a picnic pack.
This is a really lightweight pack. The stitching is even and secure. The zippers function properly in both directions with the main compartment having a two way zipper which can be opened from either side. The external zippers also have a fold over zipper flap to keep water from sitting on the zipper and getting into the pack. The material is water resistant, but if you are using this for an excursion pack I'd suggest a compactor bag for your sleeping gear to up the odds it would stay dry should it rain. It will keep things dry in sprinkles and light rain. I'm not too sure about a driving rain. There are several internal organizers and pockets to be able to put and find stuff in the pack. If you are ultralighting this might make for a decent backpack, but I think I'd at least add a chest strap to keep the tension proper on the shoulder straps. I prefer a waist belt, but I have seen some ultralighters out there using packs without a waist strap. If you are using this as a day pack then this is going to work quite well for that task. Even in this use I think I am still going to add a chest strap for stability. The outside mesh pockets on the sides are great for liter bottles so you can easily keep hydrated. There is a way to add an internal bladder so if you like that path it is there for you. This thing actually folds up, you gotta think about how to do it for a second. When you size it right you can get it into the inside out zippered bag with a carry handle. When it is in pack mode this zippered pouch is an internal compartment to sort things. The only design flaws I see on this are the lack of a chest strap I've mentioned and the outer stuff pocket. Having an easy access stuff pocket is helpful. Typically I keep my rain gear in the outer stuff pocket. This one isn't a mesh material or a lycra stretch idea. It is the same material as the pack with an opening at the top which will just collect water in the rain and there is no vent out for the water to get away from the pack. Also, I notice on the shoulder straps the connection point and the straps are single stitched. Without a waist belt or chest strap it might be a design idea to not carry much weight, and for a day pack this makes some sense. The lack of chest strap and the open water collection stuff pouch without a vent path for the water are high value design problems which requires the removal of a star. Maybe these two items are not important for you, then this would be a five start item.

Nice lightweight packable nylon pack
Very lightweight. It was 14 and 3/4 ounces on my kitchen scale. It is ripstop nylon on the front and feels like a lightweight canvas on the back, sides and bottom and top. It folds up into a packable bag. Watching the video on Amazon wasn't helpful in figuring out how to pack it until I finally realized that the zippered pouch on the inside of the main compartment had a logo on the inside of the pouch and a handle on the inside of the pouch. So turn the little pouch inside out and start stuffing and it all goes in there and zips up nicely. The little zippered pouch is is about 6 inches tall and 9 inches wide. For me this is a nice pack to throw in your suitcase and take out for day trips or cruise tours when you get where you are going. It has mesh water bottle pouches on both sides of the pack and LOTS of loops outside the pack to tie things onto and some bungee straps with hooks. There are two zippers for the main large compartment (with the small zippered pouch at the back) which is nice so you can zip them closed and put a small lock on them to keep things secure. The zipper pulls all have nice pull cords on them. The zippers on the main pack come down to the top of the water bottle pockets. The main compartment is about 11 inches wide at the widest and about 6 and 1/4 inches at the deepest. The pack does not stand up on its own, only when filled. There are straps with buckles on either side of this large compartment to keep the contents snugged down and put less stress on the zippers. The next compartment away from the back has only one zipper but it also has a pull cord. This compartment is for flat stuff. If you have a Nook or Kindle it could fit here. This pouch is about 14 inches tall and a max of 8 inches wide. There is also a small strap with a hook for keys and a nylon pocket open at the top that is about 7 inches tall and 8 inches wide. There are two more nylon pockets open at the top on the top side of that first pocket. Each is about 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide. You could put a wallet and phone in these for instance. At the outside of the pack is an open top pocket that is about 10 and 1/4 inches tall by 8 inchees wide. This is about the size of a pack of freeze dried food, for example. The pack had light padding for the shoulder straps, reflective strip on a loop on the outside of the pack and on one of the shoulder straps. Both shoulder straps have a D ring and also a loop of material just above the D ring on either side. The one that would be on your right side is made of elastic material. The top of the pack has a hole made for water tubing (like Camelbak) which would be over your right shoulder as the pack is worn. The website says the pack is waterproof. However there is no seam sealing. A lot of the features of this pack seem made for trekking, like the tie downs, water tubing, pull cords and bungees, but to me this would be a perfect day pack for traveling. Not to take too much weighty stuff but jacket, water bottle, sun lotion, umbrella etc. There is no mention of RFID pockets, so you'll need to have your valuables in some sort of RFID container. But this is a perfect little bag for taking along as a folding bag and using for day trips/tours or to bring back extra stuff as a carry on (if that is an option for your class of plane ticket). The only drawback is the cost.

Pocket backpack
Well maybe it can't fit in all pockets but this thing is pretty compact and a great item to have if there is overflow or light duty day trips. So far, I have used it for e-bike excursions and its light weight has been a plus. I would not attempt to place anything large or heavy for it does conform to what is placed inside of it due to the light flexible fabric and would be uncomfortable on your back. The zippers and stitching seem adequate but not sure of the long term durability of this pack. Only time will tell but overall I am pleased with it.
