Is That Dunkelgelb I See?
A typically high-quality set from Cobi. Their products are as good as or better than Lego. This is a fun little build of an unusual artillery piece, and more involved than you would guess, making the most of Cobi's assortment of tiny, specialized pieces. The little diorama is a bit of throwaway, though: a jumbled mess of plants, stones, and broken ruins (?). It really needed a more thoughtful design. I suppose it's nice to have another palm tree, though, in darker colors than in previous sets. As for the figure, I never pay them much heed or use them for display, though it's fair to note this one comes with a variety of accessories, which kids will enjoy for play. This is also the first Cobi set I've bought with their new Dunkelgelb (dark yellow) color, instead of the generic tan they've been using on so many German AFV sets for years. About time they added this color to their design arsenal since it was standard on German equipment from '43 onwards. Looks good!
