Edouard Manet: 1832-1883: the First of the Moderns

This is a very good introduction to Manet and his works! For the price, it is excellent and very complete. Reproductions are generally very good and well presented. Some colors lack intensity/saturation, but the detail is very good. One personal dislike: I hate two page images, too much is lost with the distortion at the binding. 5 stars.

Too small a size for a painter of usually large size work, the illustrations have the effect of being soaked up by the paper.

マネには違いないのですが、表紙の絵が全く違った書籍が届いて残念でした。本当にこれなのかしら…？表紙の絵が違うなら、ネット上の表紙の写真を変えてくださいね (泣)私は読むだけでなく、バーの女性の表紙絵をインテリアとしても飾るつもりだったので。ちょっと残念な気持ちです～
