You'll be surprised at how easy it is to permanently fix damaged or worn concrete with our Epoxy Repair Mortar This was originally developed for industry, but is now available in a version specifically designed for use in the domestic arena. If ordinary cement mortars have failed, then this is the one to choose. Prepare ItFirstly, ensure the surface to be worked on is clean, dry and free from loose particles. We suggest you brush the area with a stiff broom. Repair It Each tub of Permafix Concrete Repair contains the mixture and a hardener. Mix them together with a trowel (or by gloved hand) until you have a smooth grey coloured mortar. You’ll find that the mixture is stiffer and drier than traditional sand and cement and you’ll need to compress it with a trowel to work it into the area being repaired. The more you compress the product the wetter the surface becomes which makes it easier to work with. The usual screeding thickness for floors that receive heavy traffic is 10mm and the working life of the product when mixed is about 10-15 minutes, depending on the amount of the product used and the temperature of the area being worked. Trade Secrets Wipe the trowel with a cloth that has got white spirit on it to prevent ugly drag marks and give you a professional finish.

Excellent mortar
If you want a really stong repair mortar then order this. Repair mortars are traditionally very expensive and although this seems to be a lot to pay its really worth it and if you go humting online at DIY stores you will find this price very competetive. It mixes really easily and comes in a tin with the contents halved so you dont have to use it all in one go. It goes off quickly and the repair you get is very strong and first class. We have repaired some brickwork and some cracks along a wall outside and the finish was brilliant. I have used this before and know from experience that it lasts years so better to pay more and do the job once rather than going for cheap mortar only to find you need to repeat the job in a couple of years.First class product

Epoxy repair mortar - just the thing for those tough repair jobs.
The delivery was earlier than expected and very well packaged. The product allows you to mix smaller quantities than the whole tin which as I was repairing vertical and angled cracks in a block wall (not as easy to trowel up as a floor repair) was very helpful. Once you get used to the consistency of the mix it is possible to mix quite small amounts. You need to force the mix into the cracks and once it holds, it trowels up very well with a good smooth finish. Don't be put off if it occasionally falls out from vertical cracks, persevere and you can get an excellent finish. It sets off extremely hard and I am hopeful it can deal with the expansion and contraction of the wall and not crack again as happens with standard mortar. Only time and the seasons will tell.Overall a very good product.

Epoxy Repair Mortar curing
Although mixed in the correct quantities and cured in temperatures within the stated range of not less than 10 degrees - temps was 11-16 degrees, it took over a week to cure properly! Also it has not bonded to the recently laid concrete sub-base.
