Perfect
I am a network engineer but for home I needed a simple unmanaged 1gbps switch that is small and with a metal casing. This one fits the bill perfectly. It powers on in 1 second and works immediately with zero intervention. It is tiny but with a sturdy metal casing ans consumes 3W maximum which is great. I wouldn't buy anything with a Web interface as they are prone to security vulnerabilities and rarely patched or supported by manufacturers

Reliable and good quality 2.5gb Ethernet switch
I’ve had this switch for about 4 weeks now and so far it has worked flawlessly. It’s a good quality 2.5GB Ethernet switch from a well known brand. The build quality seems great - all metal chassis. It does run a little hot - it’s warm to the touch but not alarmingly so. From my research this is quite common for multigig switches, but can be a little concerning when you’re used to previous generation gigabit switches which never seemed to get warm. It’s reassuring to know that the D-Link model comes with a 5 year warranty which you can register on their website after purchase. It works with 2.5GB, 1GB, 100MB and 10MB devices. I'm using it with my Mac Studio, an HP ZBook and Dell Latitude laptop, all of which are getting the full 2.5GB speeds via built-in Ethernet ports (or an adapter for the Dell). It works fine with older devices too, like my Brother Laser printer which is only 100MB. On macOS devices I did have a few issues in that the Mac kept dropping the network connection every few minutes and this appears to be a bug in macOS (latest version of Sonoma 14.5). The fix was to manually configure the macOS Ethernet settings (in System Settings > Ethernet > Details > Hardware) and change configure from “automatically” to “manually” and set to 2.5GB Full Duplex (without enabling energy-efficient-ethernet). You can also disable AVB/EAV but that doesn’t seem to be necessary. This seems to be a bug with the built-in Ethernet port on some Macs and macOS and EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) which the D-Link switch supports. I didn’t see the same issue when using a USB-C based Ethernet adapter with another Mac running the same version of macOS — probably because the USB-C adapter doesn’t support EEE (I tested with the Satechi USB-C 2.5GB Ethernet Adapter). My only criticism of the switch is that I wish the power adapter port was on the same side as the Ethernet ports, so that all cables could be neatly kept out of the way. It would also be great if D-Link offered a lifetime warranty on the switch here in the U.K., like they do in other countries such as the U.S.A. Other than that, I’m very happy with the switch and would definitely recommend.

Great quality switch with added panache!
As someone with multiple devices I have been looking fo a media streaming solution to cut down on lag and buffering. I have been waiting for this device for a while after seeing revealed at an electronics show last year. The switch comes with 6-ports - five 2.5G Ethernet ports plus an additional 10G Ethernet port and as its unmanaged, was just simple plug and play to setup.Primarily this was bought to speed up the connection to my NAS, which is has done well so far, streaming in 4K is easily handle, even at highest bitrates, which my old gigabit switch could not handle. The turbo mode may seem a little gimmicky, but it enable port based QoS, which is stated to increase the throughput by 40%, but the best part is it turns the LED on. My hopes of turbo mode enabling me to go back to 1955 where sadly dashed by the lack of a flux capacitor.Overall its not the cheapest option, but its the best looking and the performance matches, so I'm happy with my purchase

Almost, ALMOST too good to be true
As you can probably guess from my tone throughout this review, I found it pretty tough to fault the D-Link DMS-106XT network switch given its price tag and wide variety of network connectivity. There are a few design choices that are going to split opinion (metal throughout, LEDs, very unconventional shape, etc) but these are quite minor points in the grand scheme of things. The Price tag of this switch for a 10GbE and 2.5GbE switch, even unmanaged, is going to make it damn near irresistible to many buyers and now that it has had some time in the market to increase exposure, availability and reviews, the price tag has become increasingly flexible (arriving as low as £130/$140 in some retailers). D-link could stand to be a little clearer about the turbo mode and it’s advantages with the DMS-106XT and the extent to which those LEDs can actually be customized is pretty weak, but you are clearly getting a sturdy, solid and high-performance piece of kit here. Additionally, with the increase of affordability of 10GbE, as well as 2.5GbE becoming the defacto port to be used with WiFi 6 client hardware, this switch has a much wider audience than it might have had just 2 years ago. A great piece of kit and one I heartily recommend.

8 Port 2.5G Unmanaged Switch
Excellent product. As well as this 8-Port 2.5G unit, I previously purchased the smaller 5-Port 2.5G unit that worked flawlessly hence buying this bigger 8-port. I now have this 8-port in my main Comms rack and the same smaller 5-Port upstairs - each having dedicated 2.5G Ethernet to PC's and connected to WiFi Access Points for general use within my small business unit via new Cat 7 cabling. Thanks D-Link. Fantastic peripherals at a good price for a small business during difficult times. My network is now Upgraded and Future proofed.

Very small. Check power supply.
Item supplied by Amazon UK had a 2 pin European power adapter instead of a UK one. Amazon directed me to D-Link support who have agreed to send out UK power adapter. 5 port switch is same size as a pack of cards and seems well built.

Easy installation and operation, dependable network switch
This was a replacement of an older D-Link gigabit switch that expired after years of a multi computer network; size & operation very useful & dependable. Network activity notable via front LED panel, silent operation. No problems noted to date, reasonably priced.

Simple and works well
Love it! It’s literally plug and go. Moved network cables from the old switch. Everything works. Has support for 2.5gbps. Full bandwidth available on my network. Metal casing, unit is well built. LED lights is nice added feature. Highly recommended.

Efficace !
