ZAYTOUN Za'atar 80g (PACK OF 3)

Years ago, I lived next to a Lebanese takeaway and was constantly amazed by the flavours that they put out that were completely new to me. I moved but I always remembered those flavours. Finally I decided to try to recreate them and started researching some of the key ingredients and what I kept finding was that so many of the dishes I loved were filled with this stuff, floral but intensely savoury its a taste that i've never come across in western cooking. Now that I have it on hand i've been using it in so many things, In addition to the traditional dishes it adds such an interesting flavour to stews and salads that I really don't know how I lived without it.This product is well packaged and well priced (A little goes a long way and three jars will last a LONG time) with a real premium feel to it.

This is probably the freshest, nicest za'atar I've ever tasted. I opened a jar this afternoon and it was wonderful.It probably tastes so good because it's wild-grown.My husband likes it mixed with olive oil and then drizzled over his salad. My favourite way to eat it is to sprinkle the dry mix onto some hot buttered toast.It's nice on pizzas, noodles, baked potatoes, grilled meat or fish - just about anything savoury! Useful too that it's low in fat and doesn't contain any artificial flavourings.I thought this was good value compared with shop prices and am going to order some more on subscribe and save when I've used this.

I am more than happy to recommend this za'atar to anyone, it's a lovely product. I eat it from a spoon or as a dip with olive oil, add it to potatoes, salads, fish and many other foods. The taste is strong and fresh; not sure if it is thyme or marjoram. Two of the jars were destined for France where it's impossible to buy. It was nice to get it in jars, but this made it more expensive per 100g. A great present though.

Good product overallI use it in mediteranian dishes

This has a great flavour, but for me personally there is not enough sumac in it so I just add some more every time I use it

I come from a country that produces zaatar. We have various types and mixes of zaatar. This one is OK taste-wise. However, there are thyme stalks in the mix that should not be there. In zaatar making, only thyme leaves are used as stalks affect the taste/quality.

Very happy with the seller Ethical Hamper Store. My 3 jars were fresh, very well packed & a good price. Sadly I’ve found too many sellers on Amazon are wildly overpriced or there’s something wrong with the goods & Amazon quality control is not reliable

I had high hopes for this product alas this was not to be I just did not like the taste of this at all shame as there are three jars of it!!!.
