Promising but with problems
I was searching for something similar for years already, and it suddenly happened! I bought it without thinking a month after release.For me this phone was very promising.PROS:1. Very good build quality, feels very realiable.2. Keyboard and touch screen3. Android 4.2.2 with google services4. 3G, call quality quite good for me5. You can uninstall most of the apps you don't need, which is a very good thing6. Wifi7. Hotspot, you can share your internet connection with someone else or your other phone8. Decent audio output with a pair of sennheiser earphones.CONS:1. Android 4.2.2, and this means you can't control the permissions for apps. For that kind of smartphone and target aidience I would expect some firewallthat will allow me to block apps from accessing my contacts, internet connection etc.2. Custom Android OS with Many bugs.3. I use the phone like a hotspot for a phablet to navigate over the net. After 1h or so, the data connection on the this phone simply dissapears and won't comeback for hours, even if you restart the phone. It simply does not work. You need to wait several hours before you can use the hotspot again. ON/OFF of data connection or resetting APN does not work. Also can happen that the phone restarts while being used as a hotspot.4. 512MB RAM. This amount of RAM is very small if you want to use your phone for multitasking or for browsing something more complicated. Often Android OS simply closes your browser or the HERE MAPS or other heavy apps.5. FLASHLIGHT is faint and its light is not enough6. MicroUSB port is not covered by any rubber protection. Also, if you put your phone in jeans or you drop it in mud, you'll have hard time cleaning it up and you can damage it.7. Speaker on the back has a cloth protection and it is not reliable. Ear speaker gets dirty fast and pretty hard to clean.8. Battery drains extremely quickly if you use WiFi or browse the Web9. No DUAL-SIM!10. Manual is too short and basically not useful.11. You cannot program your buttons as you want. I uninstalled all the cusom apps, and I cannot get them back. And now the buttons are useless.12. No proximity sensor. This means that in calls, the OS simply turns off your screen. Every time you need to press a number, you are forced to push the RED button to show your screen, and SURPRISE, if you have a pin code on screen, you will be forced to input it! And after the timeout you selected, the screen goes OFF again and repeat!13. Screen is 320x240. Maybe this is OK, but for the size of the phone, it could have been 320x480 I think, and the people would have had much many possibilities!14. You cannot set your own ringtone.15. You cannot set your own sound for alarm. The built in are scary and irritating.I wouldn't buy it again.Buy only if you will use it's functionalities not so often because it is ways better than a pheature phone. Overpriced.Why I gave 3 stars? Because it is unique. If the software parts will be fixed, it has some chances to be a good phone!
