A decent, if unspectacular, collection of pieces.
I'm an adult learner and decided that it was time to move on from Pam Wedgewood's excellent "Up-grade Piano 0-1" book to the Trinity Grade 1 book. There's a fairly good variety of pieces here, some more immediately accessable than others. Ben Crossland's "Hand in Hand" is a nice blues piece that's easy to get started with; "Jodler" by Uli Gruber takes a little practice but is a lot of fun; and "I'm Happy" has taken me about a month to get close to perfecting. On the other hand, Mike Mower's "Just for Starters" is a horrible sounding piece! I think this is a sensible level on from Trinity's "Initial" grade book, although I think I benefitted from playing the pieces from the Up-Grade book before tackling this.

Expensive per page
I’m sure it’s all relevant for the exam but very pricey for the very pages that you get!

Came recommended by the piano teacher.
This is the grade 1 book my son's piano teacher recommended. He's having a great time with the pieces.
