This barrel is BPA free, and is the perfect solution to storing water for emergencies. It is always a smart idea to have a fresh water supply when the power goes out, even though most homes in America have a minimum 30 gallon hot water tank to draw from if there is no running water. It's also a good idea to have a manually operated hand pump to go with your purchase. In fact, I follow the military saying, "Two is one, and one is none." This means that if your primary hand pump fails, it is smart to have a backup.
