Good Product - great quality
Bought this reel for 2 reasons, the price and the line counter. I was impressed from the start with the quality vs the price! Keep in mind this is a TROLLING reel and NOT a casting reel. The line counter is very accurate and the line clicker will get your attention Drag setting took some getting use to (I am very finicky ) Will buy this brand again as my needs change in the future. 5 Star product 5 Star Seller

Another Winner from KastKing
The KastKing ReKon Level Wind is my third KastKing reel. I’ve had great performance for a few years from my KastKing Royale Legend for bass fishing here in Florida lakes. It’s as rock solid and smooth casting today as it was on day one. I also have the KastKing Sharky Baitfeeder spinning rod that I use for saltwater fishing in the Gulf, and it also has performed flawlessly. The ReKon Level Wind is replacing my trusty Penn 309 Level Wind which has become less trusty the last two years requiring new parts to keep it functioning, and it’s broken down again. With the cost of more parts being high, I could get a new reel for less, so it was time to retire it. I wanted a newer technology, solid reel for trolling and pier fishing, that holds the drag where I set it. I decided on the KastKing ReKon Level Wind, size 20, because of my great experience with the brand, their explanation of the gearing/drag technology, and other buyer’s positive reviews. Right out of the box you feel it’s a solid, hefty reel, smooth winding, with beefy controls, and an aluminum handle. This has nothing to do with fishing, but I also like the look of the black and red, just like my Sharky reel. I used mono on the Penn but I’ve ordered braid to try on the new ReKon. KastKing offers high quality and many features at a very reasonable (low!) price. I’m expecting the ReKon to be my third outstanding KastKing reel, so I definitely recommend KastKing, and think you will also like the ReKon Level Wind. Another 5-star customer here. I’ll write more in a few months after I’ve used this beauty.

KastKing ReKon Round Baitcasting Line Counter- Size30- Left Handed
First impressions, as I haven't had a chance to fish with it yet.The reel is larger and lighter than expected, comfortable handle, level wind tracker secured at both ends, line counter works and resets to zero, drag locks up the spool so it can't be moved by hand. Not as smooth/ free as the Kastking Kodiak spinning reel I've used for many years, but tightening the spool tension, and cranking a bit then loosening the tension seemed to free it up some.Looking forward to using it, will update after landing first spring chinook...Received as VOC Promotion:

Not worth the money or time.
I ordered 2 rekon 20 linecounter reels to pair with a couple older salmon rods I have. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on linecounters and decided these should work for my intended use, the linecounter being the most important part of my criteria.I received the reels and 2 spools of kastking hammer 9 braid and spooled them up. The first linecounter worked okay and I got it calibrated quickly. The 2nd was completely dysfunctional. While trying to calibrate to 40' the linecounter would read 38, then I would pull back to 50' and reel back into my 40' mark and the linecounter would read between 40-42'. If I did this again it would be between 44-46'. And when I would reel in the linecounter usually would freeze at 7'.I notified kastking of the issue by email and they asked for a video of this. Instead of providing that originally I called their customer service line and talked to Brian. He told me it would be faster and easier of I returned the product through Amazon and asked for a replacement. The replacement came and I spooled it up with the previously unspooled line from the reel I had originally as they didn't offer another option for replacing the line. While I was reeling the line in the line counter appeared to be working but upon resetting it to zero and going to calibrate it I became aware that the line counter would remain at 0 for some time before engaging. Sometimes this was a foot and sometimes it was upto 12'.I notified kastking again with a call to Brian. He tried helping but informed me they had none in stock to send out to me. His solution was to escalate the issue to Winnie via email (the one I originally emailed). She was more then unhelpful with the situation and only provided a usps return label with no explanation as to what the solution would be nor any thought of my frustration of paying for these weeks prior and still not having working reels. She also never addressed the issue of having no stock available. She simply said "we will provide a replacement or refund" with no timeline.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are not worth the effort or time to get a working product.

Perfect reel for lake trolling
I’ve been looking for a lighter weight reel with a line counter and bait clicker. Most of the common brands don’t offer the clicker or line counter in the smaller size reels, KastKing offers it all the way down to the 10 size reel. I tried it out on the lake today and everything worked perfectly. The bait clicker gives a nice loud click but still pulls smoothly. For my purposes it keeps some light tension on the line while I’m dropping my canon ball and setting my lines on my downrigger. The line counter also worked great to set my distances from the boat.Easily matches the quality of my other Penn midrange and Okuma reels while costing a lot less. Great value!

Good drag
This reel has a great drag system. We have caught many fish and this reel is very study and easy to reel. Holds the line nicely and let's it out smoothly.

Drag stopped working almost instantly
I bought 2 of these to use as trolling reels on my light weight trout set up,first time out after having them sitting in the box for a month and a half and after the 3 rd fish reeled in the drag stopped working,I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to return it as I both of these longer than 30 days,I resided myself that “ok I have a spare parts reel now” about 2 weeks later out again and this time the 2nd reel gives up,same exact problem as the first? I spent almost $100 a piece for these and feel like I was cheated out of my $$$. I would never recommend or purchase a Kast King reel ,definatley my last purchase.i only bought these because they were going to be used on a lightweight set up ,6.5 ft rod,6 lb test, so now I have 2 unusable reels.Again, poor, poor quality…
