We have had mice in our house before. I happen to think they’re very cute. But I also know they carry disease.Recently, family members could hear mice at night running around. It really distressed my young adult son and his wife.My husband was on travel, and he told me to wait until he returned. First, that was too long for me to cohabitate with these creatures. Second, he intended to put out sticky traps. Words cannot express how much sticky/glue traps upset me. They torture the animal and thinking of it is overwhelmingly distressing. I first looked into and tried ultrasonic mice repellent.I knew the ultrasonic approach was not working because after installing one in that area, I saw droppings and scratched paper towels the next morning. I was getting so frustrated! I wasted $70 on that approach. Later read articles stating that the units don’t work too.Then I remembered about 10 years ago I cut cardboard strips, sprayed with craft glue, and covered with cloves and cayenne pepper. I couldn’t remember why I had done it. But it inspired me to look into natural repellent. I found the smells mice despise and ultimately this product.I removed the paper towels cleaned up all the droppings. After I hung this in the area (under our kitchen sink), I put the paper towels back as a test to see if there would be scratches the next morning. There were no scratches and no droppings. I have checked every morning since, and nothing. I am the happiest customer in the world. This product really works. And most importantly, it’s a humane way to get mice to leave.I will only add that the smell is not appealing. Fortunately, my problem was under the kitchen sink so I could close off the area with kitchen cabinets. Also put 2 in the garage.Nonetheless, I strongly support this product over sticky traps that The Humane Society has called “cruelty,” and I strongly recommend anyone who uses them to read what The Humane Society has to say.

This item is total crap. We always used traditional moth balls to keep mice out of our pontoon boat while in storage over the winter months and never had any issues with mice. We tried these to get away from the moth ball smell. Big mistake! This item actually drew the mice in, plus the balls left puddles of water where they were placed or hung. The moisture affected the ignition on the boat and may end up costing me some expensive repairs if I can’t get it rectified myself. Going back to the stinky moth balls! Buyer beware!!!

My dog got really sick from the smell of these. Keep them in areas the dog isnt going to be in.

If they have peppermint oil, I can't tell, because they smell overwhelmingly of moth balls.I got these because rodents got into the shoddy cotton insulator under the hood of my car and tore it up. I like the little mesh bags to hang them. I hung two under the hood of my car and sometimes I can smell mothballs when I'm climbing into the car and when I'm sitting in traffic. I will probably need to find out which one is near the air intake and move it away.

I ordered it because it said “Peppermint” which is supposed to be an aroma that rodents avoid. When I opened the box it smelled strongly like nothing but moth balls. I would return for the false description, however, since my Mom used to use mothballs to keep snakes & rodents away. Since we spent thousands repairing the damage from nesting, chewing varments in our truck engine, I’ll see if the work. I gave 3 stars since although it’s not as described it will hopefully do the trick.

I have a big ray problem at the place I store my RV.... they caused such damage! Put these balls out (also a few traps) and they made a difference... I noticed the rats seemed to stay away from my rig after I put these out.

We just purchased a new home. After a few weeks we noticed we had unwelcome visitors. We tried the sticky traps which worked. But we needed these little mice gone!!I got these and toss them in every corner of our home, within 24 hours no more mice.
