They do the job, but not well.
TL/DR: It works, but not well. The strike plates don't match the brass colouring. Fixing screws (plural!) snapped when fitting. It'll do for now, but is a pain to use as it doesn't auto-lock or auto-retract when unlocked.I'd recommend getting morticed bolts fitted by a local joiner, or buying the Yale or ERA surface-mounted bolts that this poorly imitates. They might cost double but they're more than twice as good.Longer Review:I have fitted these to the bottom of a pair of wood-framed French doors. It took about 20 minutes including removing old hardware and modifying the threshold bar. I had to re-use old screws because the included screws (plural!) sheared when screwing them into the wood. That doesn't inspire confidence in something designed to stop my doors being forced!Instructions are included, though it's a single sheet and doesn't use metric for drill-bit sizes. It's a straight forward job though, so I wasn't expecting any instructions.I have used Yale and ERA branded locks of the same surface-mounted design before, but a single brass bolt from either brand currently costs 50% more than a pair of Sterling bolts. I now know that this is for good reason. The Sterling bolts do not contain a spring to automatically pop up when unlocked, nor do they automatically lock when the bolt is thrown. The bolts also come completely out when pulled too hard. I realise this last point is by design, as it allows you to swap the entry point of the bolt which is essential for French doors. I just wish the bolts wouldn't come out so often.I'm not happy with these, but they'll do for now and, more importantly, will satisfy the requirements of my insurer. If I were to do this again, I'd call a joiner and ask them to install mortice bolts or, if money were no object, a multipoint locking system.

Lockable Bolt
This item is pretty decent. It does what it is suppose to do. The locking mechanism is a wafer lock that is most definitely not the most secure. It doesn't take very much (low skill) to be able to pick them open. So if you want a low security device this is a good option. I have bought quite a few of these over the past 3 years.

Ok could be better.
it lost a star because I find it to be unnecessarily difficult to push the bolt in and turn the key. It would have been better if it was a push and click style lock. Also the bolt does pull all the way out which I was a big fan off.

Easy to be broken.
It was the only latch with lock I could find to fit my gate. However, the middle latch stick got stolen by my neighbor the second day I put it in. therefor I don’t have a lock for the gate again.

Not bad..
Locks seem good quality and they were easy to fit. However, the quality of the screws provided were awful. 2 of them sheared and I had to remove them and use something else. That's the only negative.

Seems to be a a sturdy bolt
Easy to fit and no problems with the operation of the bolt. Good value for money - and looks good as well.
