My daughters favorite color (purple). The size is perfect. It's firm and sturdy so no sinking or sagging. Daughter can practice cartwheels backwalkover anything she wanted really. Except maybe spins as your feet would stick a little unlike a suede covered beam. But overall we are very happy with this for her practice skills at home.

I got this Z ATHLETIC gymnastics folding training floor beam to work on my balance. I was a gymnast when I was much younger, and I wish I had something like this back then. Now I have very bad balance, and have gone to PT to help improve it. One of the exercises I do in PT is walk within the parallel bars with one of these on the floor. I have a long way to go, but I don't see a reason to stay in PT for just that exercise since I didn't have one of these at home. It is a bit heavy and firm compared to the one I am used to, but it still works well. It folds in half, so that helps with carrying it. I place it between my couches that are back to back, and I can practice practice practice. The price is fairly high for me, though with the cost of professional equipment, at $56.99 it is much less. The firmness of this would be perfect for a gymnast. And it is purple!

My daughter is in Beginners gymnastic class and they have low beams very similar to this just different brand. When I saw this I figured it would be great for home practice and play, and man I made a good choice. First my daughter enjoys this and this helps with balance training. It folds up for easy storage and its light. The material is durable enough and is easy to clean if you need to. This will make a perfect gift for your little gymnast or dancer to help home practice or just something for the kids to play with. ***** mybadvice if you have cats - don't leave it around if they have scratching tendencies, it hasn't happened to me yet but the material feels like it could be punctured by cat claws
