Do what is right
Georgie is at Ben's flat, the story continues from book 15. She has made the connection between Ben and the Boss. The story continues throughout North Wales bodies and injuries add up. Resulting in a cliffhanger ending.Meanwhile French & Garrow are called to an incident, a young woman has been found unconcious, covered in blood, but it is not her own. Taken to hospital, she is unconcious, when she wakes up, she claims she remembers nothing, not even her name. One detective believes her, the other is suspicious. Her brother, Steve is missing, they find he suffers from PTSD and is addicted to heroin. Having identified her by a receipt found on her, they track down her mother's address, but no one answers the door. Checking the back garden, the interior is visible, as is all the blood splatter.Excellent story, well written and addictive.

Much Better…
…than the last. Two exciting cases - less bickering and superficial rubbish, and a cracking cliffhanger to finish. Some things are still annoying, though. When Garrow and French are arguing whether the daughter was a suspect, they both know that the mother had consensual sex a short time before the murder, so they don’t know the full story - so why argue?! Plus, after a high speed chase, there’s no way a car could conceal itself in a wood from a police helicopter, equipped with thermal imaging and/or IR! Nonetheless, this is very much better than the last outing.

Another fab read by Simon
Great to have it carry straight on from previous book.Mainly focused on Georgie & Ben, with a side storyline of a murder rather than the other way round. This was a great way to tidy up the story and I'm sure more will follow as lots of questions still unanswered let alone the ending of the book.Storyline as always kept me gripped and I read the whole book in an evening.Wish the DI Laura Hart books were on kindle unlimited too as I'm sure these would have me hooked from the start.Looking forward to the next book, Colwyn Bay Killings.

Very different
Gripping story lines that had you turning the page in anticipation. Would the story lines collide, willThey be linked in some way or remain two separate crimes. You don’t know until the end. Throughout you become aware of how frustrating it can be when investigating a crime with the various human reactions, behaviour and decisions. Really enjoyed this book and eager to read the next one.

A clever ending
Just when, towards the final few chapters, we find a twist or two that can but leave the reader starting to believe any preconceived ideas of the ending can be forgotten. Then, by the final page, it becomes obvious that you are in the hands of a master of his trade.I have read all his books and only have admiration for Simon McCleave.
