Merriway BH01808 Gate Door Latch Smooth Ring, 150mm (6 inch) -Galvanised, Rustproof, Silver Tone , Grey

Installed exactly where old lock was but found quality not as good as old lock, which was of a thicker metal. This is a thinner grade and latch has bent a bit already.

Poorly cast metal, the catch angle is wrong so the latch doesn't ride up over to lock in place when the gate is pulled shut (just bounces open). The square rod to connect the two handles through the gate is far too long.

Got this to replace my old latch. Looks exactly the same but the post is too short. Couldn’t use the old one as rusted into the broken ring.Had to stick something inside to get it to catch, but not ideal.

Typical garden gate or side door fitting. The excessive slack in the mechanism, more than needed to allow for the galvanised finish will allow the gate or door to rattle in the wind. A rickety affair in my opinion.The latch is strongly made and adequately galvanised so it should be a long lasting and durable product.
