Style over substance.
This had good reviews and arrived with protective tubes to protect the ends. On opening I had to ask "why?" The ends had a 'used pencil' grade finish and hadn't seen a grinder after heating as the heat staining continued to the tip.First job is grind it sharp. Luckily that was easy as, although it's hardened, it's not well hardened ...My current 'cheapie' scribe is finished well, ground sharp and harder than this product (to give an idea of hardness, this scribe failed to mark the blade of an old engineer's square).It's certainly not a finished engineer's tool. Not recommended.
