UPDATE FEBRURARY 2020:It has been 1-year and 2 months since I bought this scooter, and it is still working good, not great, but good. I've upgraded to another, powerful brand but this will be my forever backup/first decent e-scooter.Here are some takeaways throughout my 1 year of riding/owning the Xiaomi M365:1. Before riding it for 5 miles or longer, adjust your brakes, pump your tires properly, prepare your scooter first by getting all the necessary 'mods' to keep your ride safe, as well as making your e-scooter last a long time like mine. What sort of mods you ask or how do I change the brakes? YouTube it. There's a TON of videos for this scooter.2. DO NOT do tricks on this e-scooter. In fact, don't ever do ANY tricks on ANY electric scooter. Even the rental ones. Save that for those those razor kick scooter. This scooter, and all the other e-scooters are NOT made for bunny hops, bar spin,etc. Either you're asking for injury, or you'll break your scooter in no time.3. Wear a helmet. I know it doesn't seem stylish or 'cool' but who cares! 15 - 15.5mph doesn't seem fast, you gotta imagine this. You're running outdoors at a speed of 6mph and you accidentally trip. Hurts doesn't it? Now multiply 6mph running speed to 2.5 and at a stationary, standing position, with your center of gravity out of wack, with your head being the 'heaviest'. Imagine you fall. Above your neck line, specifically, your head will go first, no matter what angle. Trust me. I've fallen twice on two different ways (intentionally), and my head was always first to go down. On my new scooter that goes at a speed of 30mph. I've fallen once (unplanned) and I got a minor concussion, but luckily, I was wearing a helmet, so always wear a helmet.4. Always clean and check your scooter after each ride when you get home. I find that Xiaomi M365 scooters almost always has some loose screws or plastic piece somewhat cracking weekly (in my experience) after 3 months, but there's plenty, cheap spare parts you can purchase here on Amazon or other websites.. Also, as you ride more (i.e. 1000+ miles like me) The pole of the scooter will get loose and the screws that holds it together will break or get loosed. Even if you have the 3D printed vibration dampener installed. Only replacement is to bolt in a new screw or buy a new folding pole.5. The tires will be hard to remove and put in once you get a flat. Don't give up! Research and find videos on YouTube. However, I do recommed that once you get a flat, to change your tire to a solid tire for both front and back, this way, you will never have to worry about a flat. The rides will get bumpier, but you'll get used to it.6. If you don't want to keep the stock firmware, you can firmware mod to go at a speed of 17 - 18mph and brake harder. Mind you that Xiaomi Mi always has an update, and if you decide to revert back to stock firmware, you may brick your e-scooter.7. Ride safely and responsibly, follow your city laws/regulations and don't be one of those rogue e-scooter riders who causes chaos in the street.OLD REVIEW DECEMBER 2018:TL;DR: Buy it. It's worth it, especially if you're new to e-scooters like me and want to own one instead of rent.Overall, I am happy I made the impulse purchase with this scooter! I live in Seattle where E-Scooter from Lime, Bird, Uber, Lyft, etc. have not (yet) been approved which is a bit funky, but I wish it gets approved soon for us in this city. First thing first, I am 5'8" 157 lbs., but with work backpack, jacket, food, water, I'm about 160 lbs.Anyway, I hope you can all visualize this review:The box was perfect, and out of the box, the scooter and everything was awesome. The spare tires were there as well as the little tube connector thing to inflate your tires, manual, charger, was all there. A simple assembly of the neck area of the steerin handle will bring the scooter to a workable stage. I powered it on to make sure it's working (turns on)I did NOT take it for a joy-ride right after assembling it as it's raining very often here in Seattle, and when I got it, I didn't ride it for 4 or 5 days due to the fact that it's raining. Also, I had a bad experience with my Walmart bought e-scooter due to my stupidity, so I took the necessary steps to make this e-scooter as durable and element resistant the best I can (in my opinion of course).The IP rating is IP54 (or 55?), and that doesn't make it water resistants like our Samsung or Apple smartphones. This got me thinking--what if I can make it SLIGHTLY water resistant? I bought a water resistant sealing tape (I used Gorilla Repair Tape) and taped all over the bottom part where the battery compartment cover is located. I then tape other necessary and what I believe may be "exposed to the elements" such as the display cover/power button, the LED Light, under the mudguard brake light where there is a brake wire (had to unscrew this) and the part where the neck area needs to be assembled.After those were done, I feel confident it's "water-resistant" enough since I covered most of the parts where water or dust can possibly sip in over time. I scoured YouTube to find some other mods that people do, such as buying a 3D printed anti-vibration material that can be easily inserted at the folding mechanism.. I then also bought a Slime tube sealant and applied it for both front and rear wheel, since apparently it will almost prevent punctures of the e-scooter's air filled tire. After all these mods, I feel "good" enough that I did a better job in preparing this scooter to be (almost) my daily ride from home to work and back.One last thing I did was the brake disk and brake pads alignment, as well as tigthtening the brake. Everytime I turn the rear wheel, the brake disc rubs agains the pads, and I feel like the brake was kind of weak. If you don't know how to do a brake disk/pads alignment, YouTube has some tutorials on how to do it. It's basically almost the same as a bike.Now for the moment of truth! Since it stopped raining, I finally got the chance to truly test it out and ride it from home to work which is about 5 miles with steep hills, bumpy and winding road, and rough winds. Note that you need to download the Mi Home app on your smartphone to get the stats like speed, battery life, and other necessary controls.. YouTube those on how to do it.For my ride, my top speed was 20mph downhill on a very long, steep downhill from my place. Throughout my ride 5 mile ride, I was sitting between 15 - 15.5mph, which is true to what was mentioned. The battery life was pretty good, but not impressive. I was able to ride it from 91% (since I forgot to charge it overnight) and got to work with 30% remaining. However, I think this is because of these factors: It was at 91% charged, I'm 160 lbs. (work backpack, water, food, etc.), rode it on various degree of rolling hills, it was windy, and I was at full-speed for majority of my ride. I also had my LED light turned on throughout my ride and the scooter connected to my phone via bluetooth for stats.Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and this e-scooter truly lived up to my expectation. I was even able to pass some bikers during my ride which was awesome!

I saw these scooters all over Santa Monica & discovered they were owned by a company started by an x Uber executive called Birdride. They are placed all over the city and a phone app is used to rent them. What's really nice is you rent, travel and leave them at your destination. Pretty much anywhere. I used them multiple times before deciding to buy one.I'm not discounting the negative reviews. I've watched a few vids of rider abuse by taking the scooter off road as well as witnessing abuse by Bird renters. I knew going in the fold down bar can become loose. Users have already figured a fix with a 3D printed shim that can be purchased on Ebay. My thinking is that if it can hold up to rental use it should not have issues if taken care of. Also with thousands now everywhere I expect a fix for any problem that arises.That said, my initial impression is the Xiaomi M365 is a high quality product. It arrived mostly assembled with the exception of the handlebar that required 4 screws to install.Also nice they include two extra tires and tubes. I've noticed some pretty nice solid tire options but considering there is no suspension I'll stick with air unless flats become a problem.I haven't tested the range but I expect to get the 18 miles you would need to be on flat ground in eco mode, little stop and go & no wind. I saw an IG post where a couple on Bird rentals made it to Hollywood from Venice Beach. That's over ten miles with a lot of stop and go. I assume Birds scooters run in some type of energy saving mode.Braking is great. The front wheel uses some type of regenerative braking that charges the battery, the back disk brake adds kinda a trail braking effect. I've seen people thinking they needed to adjust the back to make it brake harder but I think the set-up from the factory is perfect & adds stability when braking in turns.Speed. In standard mode the top speed of 15 mph is great and I don't think you want to go over that with 8 1/2 inch wheels. Eco mode is ok if you need to extend range. It tops out at 11 MPH. In all modes climbing hills is difficult, small grades are ok especially if you are light. This is where your body weight makes a huge difference. I weigh of 200 lbs so hills are slow going and kill the battery.Charging. 5 hours and charger get hot. A fast charging option would be niceLights: Lights are great, the scooter even has a flashing brake light.Fun: Yes! Buzzing around town on this is great. It's a useful toy. I wouldn't consider this a daily driver unless your commute is short.**** I'll continue to updateUpdate 3/10: Regarding the fold down bar issue. I haven't purchased the 3D shim & mine hasn't become loose but after hearing a creaking sound on bumps I placed a couple pieces of electrical tape on the inside of the joint and now its completely silent.. I'm also adding a small piece of tape over the hook to stop wear due to vibration. I noticed Birdride has made a retrofit piece that completely goes in place & removes the fold down feature, I like the feature and prefer to keep it but I included a photo of Birds setup.Update 6/3: Got my first flat tire at around 600 miles. It was the rear and using a youtube instructional video was able to replace it with one of the included tubes. Was not easy but I've not changed a bike tire so had no experience.Removing the back wheel was not difficult but the actual tire removal and reinstall takes wrist strength and technique. Getting the tire back on was the most difficult and I damaged one of my replacement tubes first go round because I was doing it wrong. To get the rear back tire on you need to use your knee or foot to hold the tire in place while using the two tire sticks to push the tire in position. Be careful not to bend the disk brake.Also I looked at solid tire options on youtube & reading comments these seem nearly impossible to install and have a negative effect on speed and ride.In general the scooter has been problem free. I've learned what parts need oiled for silent ride. I'm still layering electrical tape to keep the hinge tight.Update 5/11/2019: Over 800 miles & I've been using it less for recreational riding. I have had no problems other than the one flat tire. I consider this ideal for short commutes where you don't want to sweat. You can throw it in your grocery cart while shopping, take it into Starbucks or lock it to near the door.The only negative would be If you are buying it for recreation you don't really get much exercise. I think I've been lucky with the reliability because obviously others have had problems. The fold down system hopefully has been redone on the new version.

Cumple totalmente con mis expectativas, excelente duración de la batería, los uso para recorridos al trabajo de 24 km diarios (ida y vuelta) sin problema con la carga, de cualquier manera por seguridad llevo el cargador en una mochila, pero realmente no es necesario. No es tan ligero, después de unos minutos ya se siente el peso, pero no deja de ser lo suficientemente portatil como para llevarlo en el metro o en la cajuela del coche. L velocidad máxima que he logrado es de 28 km/h. Y lo único qué tal vez fue complicado para mi fue el encontrar la aplicación para poder tener la información de mis recorridos, que es la oficial de XIAOMI, pero en ningún lado dice que sea para el scooter (al menos en el AppStore).

Me ha resultado bastante bien, ahorrando tiempo y dinero para los traslados diarios. Cuando se tiene que manipular es relativamente sencillo, aunque no es tan ligero (16 kg). Recuerden utilizar artículos de protección (casco/coderas/rodilleras) cuando lo usen, ya que muchas veces los autos no nos alcanzan a ver. Además pueden bajar la app de Xiaomi para ver la distancia recorrida, porcentaje restante de carga de batería (aunque el scooter tiene un indicador) y distancia estimada que podrán recorrer con lo que les reste de batería. Los cables (eléctrico y del freno) en la parte baja sobresalen de más a lo ancho, lo cual es un riesgo de que se puedan enganchar con algo, pero ajustándolos con cinta/cincho/etc se resuelve el problema. No estaría mal que le agregaran direccionales porque ayudaría durante su uso en las calles.

El scooter es una maravilla, muy divertido y eficiente a la hora de moverte.Los inconvenientes se presentan a la hora de enfrentar el asfalto de la Ciudad de México, el metro y cuanto carro te deje caer el auto. Posiblemente en un centro comercial o zonas donde el asfalto es totalmente liso y plano, se pueda apreciar comodidad pero, no en la mayoría de la ciudad. Su peso es ridículo para utilizar en el transporte publico, solo podrías meterlo al maletero de tu auto y al llegar a tu destino utilizarlo.A la primer semana de uso, la llanta trasera se poncho. A la siguiente el freno de disco tuvo un ligero doblez y por ultimo la unión de tubo de dirección (donde se hace el doblez para transportar ) comenzó a realizar ruido.Excelente idea y producto.Buen diseño.Peso excesivoSin consideraciones para la Ciudad de México

El scooter está muy bien hecho, considera varios elementos estéticos y de funcionalidad, no corre tan rápido como yo pensaba pero eso no es tan malo ya que acá en México lo uso para transportarme al trabajo por la banqueta, por falta de cultura vial. Se carga con la luz normal de casa, yo la cargo en el trabajo para ahorrar luz, recomiendo comprar los accesorios relacionado a gomas que evitan el desgaste y que suene por la vibración, la bolsa para transportarse y el espejo retrovisor pero con un espejo Fisheye, no normal porque no se alcanza a ver por la vibración.
